It sucks. I was pulling for Philly vs. Anyone because I wanted to see him get a ring.

Good question. From my stance no. Hall Of The Very Good unfortunately, 4 years ago I coulda sworn he'd be a first ballot guy and the closest to hit 300 wins. Here's the most telling injuries derailed his chances IMO. He is like 900K away from 3,000 and close to 100 wins from 300. The two Cys and during the Selig era clean warrants consideration, but I would say no.

Baseball analyst/blogger or whatever Dave Cameron said "Shoulders are stupid. I want to see Halladay pitch some more."

I have to agree with Kill.
Halladay falls short of enshrinement. Put him in the "hall of very good" alongside Mike Mussina and many others.

I have to agree with Kill.

He is a fucking swell guy though. Halladay signs one day contract to retire a Blue Jay.

Since Nelson Mandela self identified as a Yankee he gets a plaque in monument park.

Huh? He had nothing to do with baseball at all, I'm not even sure if he's been to MFY Stadium. Why does he get a fucking plaque? Next time I'm in NY ( which won't be for at least a couple of years ) I want a plaque too.

Get Steve Earle a plaque. I've seen him on TV sitting behind home plate there with a cap on, obviously a true Yankee fan.

Apparently Jack Z. and more than likely as a result of the fallout from the Times article about his total incompetence, stated it's m9re than likely Walker is not going anywhere.

Remember this is the dumb motherfucker that gave up Pineda and Fister for shit. I wanna see what Smoak does next year, Griffey ( like everyone else apparently ) thinks he's about to break out. And Ackley finished on a strong note. Seattle is almost there it's just their FO fucks them everytime.

Maybe because Nelson Mandela was such an influential figure and inspiring, could be his support of sports and famous quotes. Not sure how active he was directly.

Angels send Trhmbo and 2 PTBNL to Arizona for Skaggs and Santiago from CHW, the White Sox get Adam Eaton.

I hate 3 team trades they're a bitch to type up :lol:

Rockies get Bret Anderson from Oakland for 5th overall pick Pomeranz and a single-A RHP prospect. If Anderson stays healthy he's pretty good.

Mark Mulder is attempting to make a comeback. Mulder has been out of MLB since 2008 and saw LA Dodgers reliever Paco Rodriguez's delivery and he tried to emulate it. He's worked out for unspecified teams and was clocked at 89-90.

Seattle signs Corey Hart to a 1 yr. deal to bat behind Cano. Hart missed last season with a knee injury, but the bounce back potential is awesome. It's win/win low risk...high reward plus if he has a good season he could get a qualifying offer. Then you get a draft pick if he signs somewhere else. Also this potentially keeps them from possibly adding Cruz.

The Dodgers Colleti say's Kemp's not on the trade block.

Hart's deal is for 5m with the chance to make it 13m with incentives.

I would put the chips it would require to get Kemp ( who may or may not be able to play anymore ) in that category too.

Speaking of which Seattle just traded Carter Capps for Logan Morrison. That gives them 3 guys who can play 1B now Smoak, Hart and Morrison. I imagine Smoak is on his way out.

I don't know what the fuck is in Zduerdnick's Wheaties right now. So far I'm pretty impressed with the signings. Maybe it was the Seattle Times article on Z's refusal to take a Sabermetric approach, etc because what I'm seeing is a completely analytical approach happening in the NW. Seattle is just a couple moves away from being a force to reckoned with in the West.

It's not a hammer that's not what they need. Last year their losses can mostly be blamed on OF defense and bullpen. They have the pitching and IsO. If they take a more Beane/Melvin platoon oriented approach it could all work out. Don't rely on Hart fulltime plus he can sub at DH.

I'm not the only one who feels Seattle is right there. Their farm has been built up and built well. They were only two to three moves from being a serious threat and the moves are being made. Farquerar ( sp? ) was great in the closing role and with potential added help the bullpen dilemma could be fixed. I can see them making life very difficult for Texas and Oakland next year.

Reports were Trumbo was uncomfortable playing in front of the hometown fans in Anaheim.
I guess he can look for another excuse when he does not perform at a high level for his new team

I don't know what his deal was I just know LAA made out like bandits in this trade. Trumbo is IMO a guy that was too hyped.

Mets sign Bartolo Colon to a 2 year deal pending a physical. Details forthcoming.

Colon's deal is worth 20m.

-MLB rules committee outlaws collisions at home plate. Players will have to slide and the catcher will not be allowed to block homeplate, much like the other bases. This rule is pending player approval.

I get it, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Some of the coolest plays in baseball has been homeplate defense. Think Berra and Bench and OTOH remember what happened to Posey. Thoughts?

-Whichever team goes to 8 on Choo lands him, he's got multiple 7 year deals on the table. Choo is 31....plus 8 years? Fuck all that jazz, razamatazz.

-Basically with the 20 million dollar negotiating fee everyone is making Tanaka their priority. AZ just stated he's their top. Same with MFY, Baltimore ( not positive ), Seattle, etc.

Here's what's funny though. The NPB isn't even sure if they're going to post him yet. They might and he want's to be, but with only a 20 million dollar gain why should they? What about smaller market teams that's are waiting to drop all their eggs in one basket? If the NPB don't post him the FA market could be dry by then.

SF signs Mike Morse to a 1/5m deal + incentives. As Seattle learned last season his 30HR days are behind him, like his health. The NL has no DH so this move is a head scratcher. Sabean usually doesn't gamble on trying to catch lightning in a bottle, although sometimes he does ( Renteria, Scutaro ).

Tigers sign lardass Joba The Fat to a 1 year deal. For a team that's playoff exits usually coincide with their bullpen ( or lack there of ) and signed Nathan for two years to fix it? Bringing in Joba is the polar opposite. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

For fuck sake, and I thought the pussyfacation of football was out of hand. I heard the talks about this home plate stuff during the season and absolutely can't fucking stand the idea that we'll never see another collision.

Not sure what position you guys played, I did 2nd then 3rd but played catcher most of my days and salivated home plate collision, I lived for them and so did everyone else playing or watching. It blows me away to think will never see it again if this vote goes through. Fucking seriously?

There's already no dodge ball, red rover or any contact sport in grade school. Let's not wimp down our pro sports more then they are.
