Orton no longer a Cowboy. No surprise, but Dallas better pray Romo doesn't get hurt. Weeden is the worst ever. EVER.

Why should those assholes oops I mean Dallas Cowboy fans pray that Romo doesn't get hurt?

A .500 season is just like a 0-16 season neither one is going to get you into the playoffs.

Tell that to the 2011 Broncos, 2010 Seahawks, and 2009 Chargers.

.500 could win the NFC East this year.

2010 Seahawks got in at 7-9 and made some noise!
Wait until they expand the playoffs. I have no problem with .500 teams or below getting it. You play your schedule and you do what you can do in your division.

Any thoughts on the "huge" 2 game suspension of Ray Rice? Poor fucks that smoke weed get worse than that.

Stephen A Smith suggests women need to take responsibility to avoid being beaten by their boyfriends.

2 games is a joke. Must be nice to have $$$.

Woman should boycott the games.

Rice at the minimum should be suspended for at least the entire season. How can the NFL support this man in any way, shape or form??

That being said, Rice is trending downward on the field. His level of play has decreased greatly since his big year in 2011.
The life of a running back in the NFL is usually not very long, so maybe they are giving the kid a chance to make a few more dollars before his body can no longer take the punishment on the field.

Dallas Cowboys LB McClain convicted in Alabama

A judge on Friday convicted Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in his Alabama hometown and imposed an 18-day jail term that could interrupt the player's bid to restart his career. McClain was accused of yelling an obscenity at police trying to arrest him during a disturbance in a crowded city park in 2013.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide star maintained his innocence and said police arrested the wrong person. He's been arrested three times in Decatur since 2011

For the punch to the head if she was a QB he'd got at least a 7 game suspension. The NFL is trying to clean up it's act by keeping the hits, roughness and violence off the field.

Of course now the GM tells the truth. The team might have ruined his career for good for running him out there before he was ready to play.

-- Washington Redskins vice president and general manager Bruce Allen said quarterback Robert Griffin III should not have opened the season as the starter a year ago, not because his knee wasn't ready but rather because of his game.

Allen, speaking on ESPN 950 radio Monday, said Griffin, coming off knee surgery to repair multiple ligaments, did not have enough practice time to get ready for an NFL season. Though doctors cleared him to resume practicing, then-coach Mike Shanahan said Dr. James Andrews told him he should not play in any preseason games.

"What you saw last year was almost a little disrespectful to the game of football," Allen said. "It's impossible to ask a player to perform well during the regular season if you haven't practiced.

Griffin was coming off a magical first season when he helped the Redskins win their first NFC East title since 1999, but late in the season he injured his lateral collateral ligament during a December win over Baltimore, missed a week and then tore his ACL and MCL in a playoff loss to Seattle.

He embarked on a campaign to return for the opener with a slogan of "All in for Week 1."

The NFL commish has his hands full. The players don't respect the commish at all

The legal team for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will argue in a hearing Friday that its client has disputed test results that were caused from second-hand marijuana smoke, according to sources.

Gordon is appealing the NFL's imposition of a yearlong suspension for a positive test for marijuana.

Gordon's legal team will argue that the positive tests are so marginal that they show uncertainty as to whether the test results were truly positive, and even if so, were the result of exposure to second-hand smoke, according to sources familiar with the case.

ESPN suspends Smith for comments on abuse!

ESPN says it has suspended sportscaster Stephen A. Smith for a week because of comments about domestic abuse suggesting women should make sure they don't provoke attacks.

Smith has apologized for the comments that were made last Friday during an on-air discussion about NFL running back Ray Rice's suspension for assaulting his fiancee. But ESPN said Tuesday that Smith would not appear on the ESPN2 show, "First Take," or on ESPN radio until Aug. 6.

 I love Andre Reed.

Ex-Bills WR Andre Reed bashes Johnny Manziel: Who the F is he?
By John Breech | CBSSports.com
July 29, 2014 2:37 PM ET

Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Andre Reed spent 16 years in the NFL and in those 16 years, he played in four Super Bowls, seven Pro Bowls and caught more passes than all but 10 players in NFL history.

The point here is that Reed isn't a guy who's easily impressed and he's definitely not impressed with Johnny Manziel.

In an interview with New York Magazine, Reed had some not so pleasant things to say about Johnny Football.

The subject of Manziel came up during Reed's interview after a Manziel tweet about LeBron James showed up on 'SportsCenter.' In the tweet, which Johnny Football sent out after James annnounced his return to Cleveland, Manziel referred to James as 'My guy.'

YESSSSSSSS!! Couldn't be happier for my guy @KingJames and the @cavs #Cleveland
— Johnny Manziel (@JManziel2) July 11, 2014

"Who the f--- is Johnny Manziel?" Reed said. "LeBron ain't your guy! You're not 'Johnny Football.' You're 'Johnny Rookie Bitch.'"

Reed, who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 2, also added that Manziel wouldn't have been a good fit in Buffalo, "They'd boo that motherf----- outta here," Reed said. "The fans would put him in his place."

So if you're reading and you're Johnny Manziel's agent, try to avoid sending Johnny to Buffalo at any point in his career.

Manziel wasn't the only person Reed went after in his interview, the ex-Bills receiver also had strong comments for Jon Bon Jovi. "Man, f--- Bon Jovi," Reed said. "You might as well just take this city, throw it in the river, and let it go down Niagara Falls."

Bon Jovi is part of an ownership group trying to buy the Bills and there's a belief that Bon Jovi's group would eventually move the team to Toronto if they end up owning the Bills.

I'm reposting the entire quote because the best post of the year should go to Andre Reed. And the slam on Jovi, fucking love it. Johnny wide mouth. I've always liked and respected Reed but today he's my favorite player ever...Today.

Andre Reed, this bud's for you.

Hoyer will start the season. Once the Browns start to have a losing record they'll be forced to go with Johnny Football.
Cassel started or played in every game the Vikes won last season. I don't think he's great, but Jaws is a retard here if we are going by how he played last season. He is not the worst, of course next to Plunder anybody looks good.

Derrik Brooks
Ray Guy
Andre Reed

I don't know much about the old timer, but those are some pretty good guys there from what we know.

Brooks might be the classiest guy to ever play in the NFL.

Well as far the kickoff...the rule changes they made are really stupid. Now it's almost always kicked deep into the end zone (unless the Redskins are kicking off) and the players bring it out anyway.

If the point is to eliminate kickoffs, just get rid of them. Don't see the point of trying to force players to take touchbacks, especially when they run it out anyway.
