The card wasn't bad, except the 2 main events were major mismatches. I look forward to seeing Mor get smashed the next time he fights a top 5 HW, and Jones should beat Rampage. Stann did indeed look good, but that was a bad match up for Santiago's first fight back.

Nick Diaz vs GSP has been announced.
Fight of the year!!
Although Clay Guida has a fight this saturday, and that has all the makings of fight of the year.
So far my picks for foty are:
Edgar/Maynard 2
or
Diaz vs Daley

I love Guida, but that Oscar-acceptance-speech-list-of-thank-yous he prattled off was annoying.

agree. I cant stand when winning fighters make those kind of speeches. Joe always ends up having to cut them off to ask them a question.
Guida controlled that fight from beginning to end. He got into a bit of trouble towards the end of 3rd round, but ended up on top.
Even the Facebook fights were good.

Very disappointed with Guida. He had nothing. I have no idea what all the hype was about. Pettis is a much more exciting fighter. I hope he can rebound from this.

So why did Pettis lose? At one point in the fight, Pettis had his back to the cage, and had this look on his face like "what the f I'm going to do".
Guida had a gameplan, stuck with it, and won the decesion without a doubt.

He lost because he was dry humped by someone who couldn't do much else. Not that I blame Guida, better than risking getting submitted which from I saw could very well have happened.

Carwin vs. JDS?

I would have said JDS, but my friend Ray said Carwin, and he's usually right, so I guess I'll have to go with Carwin.

Interesting the UFC is making all their future main events, title or not, 5 rounds (unless they've already been signed for 3 rounds).

With all the injuries they keep seeming to have with headliners, this could get sloppy.

You aint lying, all these injuries are so disappointing. There's been some great fights lined up, only to be changed or rescheduled. Dana White has to be going crazy! I dont know how I feel about the 5 round non title fights. At first I thought it had to happen, but on the fence now.
Dos Santos or Carwin? Toss up. Whoever lands the first big shot. I'm sure Carwin has learned his lesson from the Lesnar fight. If he nails JDS, he will pick his shots instead of just throwing bombs and gassing out. I'm gonna go back to watch the Lesnar/Carwin fight & see if I see anything different.

Carwin had nothing for Cigano. Couldn't land his big shot and couldn't keep him down. Carwin should have gone for broke in the last round. I was expecting another front kick ko thought.

I though Maia vs Munoz was a great fight, but I don't get how a judge can think that Munoz won the first round. 30-27? GTFO.

I was saying the same thing. Maia dominated that first round, how the fuck did a judge think it went to Munoz?

This was the best PPV they've had in a while, good fights through the card. I'm now officially a Dave Herman fan. Anybody who walks out to "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" and smiles through his whole fight while getting clobbered, and then comes back to win, is aces in my book. All while wearing shorts with a huge ad that said "BUY MY SHORTS" on the front.

Amazing that Carwin came back after that first round and lasted all three. I was yelling for Herb Dean to stop the fight but he made the right call. I loves me some Herb Dean.

Did you see cigano looking at him "hey herb buddy, you gonna stop the fight or what" WHILE punching Carwin's face off?

Also, is Edwards awake already?

The Stout knockout of Edwards was a thing of beauty, wasnt it?
I bet Edwards doesnt remember anything that happened within the last week.
Carwin couldnt get past the jab of JDS. I think JDS was too tall of an order for Carwin coming back after surgery & many months off.
Its not up to a fighter who is banging away on his opponent to tell the judge to stop the fight. The judge made the right call.
I thought Kenny Floria looked good. Those elbows of his are killers.
The Munoz/Maia fight could've gone either way. No way did Munoz win all 3 rounds.
Cain V vs JDS- As of today JDS is the favorite. I'm going with Cain. It should be a great fight.

Yeah, I was with JDS when he looked at Dean to stop the fight, but you have to keep going.

Didn't see the Stout KO live but caught the replay. Wow. It's been a while since I've seen somebody KOed like that, dude just dropped and there was no doubt.

I can see why JDS is the early favorite, with Cain coming off an injury and a long layoff, but I'm still gonna put my money on Cain.

It cracked me up how excited Stout was on the knockout. He looked like a kid in a candystore. The above shot of Edwards after he was ko'd said it all. The guy was out with his eyes open.
Overall a good night of fights. Not as good as the TUF finals. That night was top to bottom nothing but great fights.

I actually thought when Santos was pounding away how funny it would be if he blew his load then only to get choked out in the second.
But yeah, Cain vs JDS is probably the only fight in that division that interests me. Sure as hell ain't Schaub getting to fight another washed up legend in Minotauro.

Edwards knockout was indeed cool but also kinda scary. Getting dropped like that has to really scramble your brain.

Only catched the end of the Barnett fight but not really a surprise that he submitted Rogers.
Werdum vs Overeem was weird, Werdum was dropping his butt to the floor everytime Overeem came to him and kept inviting him to his guard, Overeem declined, ref stood him up, repeat. Boring, but you know what? If they gave the decision to Werdum it wouldn't be the biggest robbery ever. I'm gonna have to check out the fight again but I think Werdum actually landed more clean shots. Got him covering up at one point.
Overeem was gassed too, you could see it in the post fight interview.

Lame night of fights. Noons got his ass handed to him. It was impressive how Barnett submitted Rogers. But that Rogers guy has lost to everybody, so does it really matter? I wonder if the top two Strikeforce heavyweights can beat UFC's JDS or Cain. I dont think so. I do think that the whoever wins the Grand Prix should fight whoever wins the JDS/Cain fight.

Oh yeah, what a round huh?
Props to the ref for not stopping it when Congo got hurt. I loved Joe Rogan's commentary when Congo was getting blasted.
Overall an excellent night of fights, a little bit of everything; great knockouts, submissions, questionable calls. And Nate the Great is an asshole. I cant wait to hear what it was that got him booted.

Rogan always gets overexcited. "HE'S OUT HE'S OUT" than BAM the frog knocks Barry out.
Reminds me when Lesnar was choking out Carwin he was like "CARWIN IS OK, AS LONG AS HE..." *tap*tap*tap*

The only other thing I watched from that event was Mittrione winning by ko. I'll see what's up on mmator later, which fights should I check out first?

Another Roganism is "HE'S IN TROUBLE! OK, he's out of it."
