Saw the footage of Manny Ramirez last night in Boston.

MLB is full of fucking hypocrites. Here is a guy who is a 2 time loser in the PED battle and the man is cheered upon his return to Beantown.

Good for Manny and good for the fans of Boston. Interesting how home team fans, i.e. Red Sox fans have no trouble giving Manny a standing ovation upon his return but they will go out of there way to badmouth guys like Arod.

It's about time MLB accepts the PED users for what they accomplished on the field.
It was only weeks ago the Cubs refused to acknowledge Sosa. That was wrong. What Boston did is the right thing.
What the Giants did with Bonds is the right thing.
Bud Selig can continue to ignore these players all he wants but that man is just as bad as the guilty parties.

The fans want the guilty parties to be acknowledged. The fans have made it very clear they do not have a problem with "their players" cheating on the field in exchange for victories/world series titles.

Arod, Pettite, Clemens, Sheffield, Cervelli, Boone, Montero, Mendoza....need I go on?

Idiot.

Yesterday saw vintage King 8.2IP 1ER 2BB 9K

Here's a fun fact I came across last evening: Since 2005 the King leads mlb with 62 starts of 8IP and only giving up 1 run or less. To put that in context both Kershaw and Verlander have 63.....combined.

Tim Lincecum left with a 4BB no hitter in the 5th ( he was at 94 pitches ). The no no continued until the 7th. The last Giants pitcher to be pulled in the middle of a no hitter was Mike Krukow in '83. He was pulled in the 6th, I believe.

Today's SF/St. Louis matchup is more than likely a postseason preview. Vogelsong @ Garcia. It should be good.

When Toronto is healthy they're actually pretty good and look like AL East favorites. Oakland pounded on them, but they might just be the team to beat. I personally think Detroit is the AL's best this season and wouldn't be surprised to see them in the WS again....possibly against the Giants too.

*edit*

Hysterical comedian Louis CK bought Babe Ruth's Hampton summer home for 2.44m.

What are you talking about? Go ahead and list Yankee players.
Who cares? The entire league was littered with players who were abusing PED's.

It's a good pitching matchup right now with Vogelsong @ Wainwright. SF has been on a tear lately, but I bring this up because Wainwright hasn't been dominating the NL Cy talk and with Fernandez out, that's madness.

Also this evening Seattle opens a tough homestand against Detroit. I bring this up because it's Verlander against Iwakuma. Cano is day to day with a mild hand strain so the M's are running out a lineup of 7s, 8s, and 9s ( ie. Endy Chavez hitting leadoff ).

Here's a fun fact for tonite. In 2 starts against Verlander, Iwakuma is 1-0 with a 0.00ERA. The last time ( 04/18/13 ) was another 7,8,9 lineup.

http://m.bbref.com/m?p=XXboxesXXSEAXXSEA201304180.shtml

I still think Detroit is the AL team to beat ( yeah, that's an easy prediction ), but the M's somehow have hit really well against Verlander.

Fun historical facts of June 2:

In 1987 the Seattle Mariners drafted a badass high school senior from Cincinnati, Ken Griffey Jr.

Image

Another one for Seattle

Randy Johnson in 1990 pitched his and the M's first no hitter against the Tigers.

Image

King Felix pitches at MFY Stadium today vs. Phelps.

The King has completely dominated pitching @ the toilet. In 5 starts he's 4-1 with a 1.18ERA. King is on fire right now too. It's a makeup game, but I wanna see go against Tanaka soon. He beat Darvish only to have Rodney blow the save.

One of my favorite Randy Johnson moments was during the AllStar Game and how Larry Walker earlier mentioned he didn't want to face Randy but as lucked turned out he did.

The first pitch from Randy broke loose and launched five feet over Larry's head like a Scud missile. Everyone was laughing, you could see Walker was a bit nervous and embarrassed so Walker turned his helmet backwards and batted right handed. Larry was so far back in the box he was practically on deck.

Kruk had an incident as well, Larry Walkers was in 97, here's a great picture of Walker switch hitting with his hat on backwards.

This link show Kruk's blunders in 93 which was exactly like Larry's....First pitch sails over their heads sucking the wind out of both of them.
Larry laughed embarrassingly and switched to bat Right Handed. I remember them showing the Kruk 1993 goof on replay during Larry's 1997 at bat.

I'm gonna miss Scully more then anyone in the game, his story's and respect for the game and players not to mention his memory of history and the way he recalls it. I spent years in the 80's/90's following the Dodgers on their radio network. And several games a year since.

But Zim sending a ball over....If there's a fight I want you! Good stuff.

Manny Machado should be suspended for at least 25 games after hurling a bat intentionally at the A's.

Did anybody else see the play?

No excuse for that sort of action at all. The kid has a lot of growing up to do. During the post-game interview Manny claimed the bat slipped out of his hands.
B.S.
He intentionally hurled the bat towards the pitcher but he clearly missed by about 45 feet or more.

Manny chucked that bat like a 5 second delay grenade. The ball was practically on it's way back to the mound.

With Clemens that was roid rage he misremembered. I watched the Machado incident. I'm not sure what kind of punishment should be levied against him. Dick move regardless.

Speaking of class. NY's new 154m pitcher still won't have to face an ace. Girardi is going to skip him facing Iwakuma tomorrow. Seattle has won 9 of their last 10 and are playing really really well.

Cano: "We're a team that has to do anything to win games. We don't have 3-4-5 guys that hit 30HRs and 100RBIs. Do the little things."

I'm really digging the fuck out of the M's this year. Small ball, good bullpen, and when Walker and Paxton return possibly the best rotation in the game.

Oh and the King struck out 15 yesterday. I've got some numbers for him that will blow your mind I'll post later. Pedro '99, Koufax '63, Gooden '84 level good.

*edit*
Oh and ESPN Seattle told a story that after the 3-0 win over David Price today, Adele's "Someone Like You" was the victory song blasting in the clubhouse ( Beimel was the blame ). Like I said this team is fun and I think they're going to be a wildcard threat this season.

The kid got off very easy. If the flying bat would have struck an opposing player, Manny probably would have received 7 games.

Do you really have a problem with ARod for shouting during the pop up? You have to be kidding.
It's the fielders responsibility to catch the ball. The player who dropped the ball on the Jays should be embarrassed for letting a shout distract him.
I don't have a problem with the play. I see that happen a lot in MLB, in college baseball and all the way down to little league.

You are correct, there should be a special wing in the HOF for all the juicers.
MLB needs to accept that era and take responsibility for their role in the Steroid Era.
The players should not get 100% of the blame.
Bud Selig & The Owners are just as responsible for allowing those actions to happen.

Dude come on Even Arod was embarrassed about it, It was written all over his face in the postgame interview, it was fucking bush league but I probably would give him a pass if He wasn't already a huge fucking asshole.

Sorry, don't agree, In Bonds and Arods case they were already HOF caliber players who just wanted to break records, They chose to tarnish their legacies They should accept the fact that 99% of fans lost all respect for them. Goes for all roiders but those 2 along with manny were already going in had they not juiced. I was joking but a PED wing would just be dumb as fuck. I do agree that Selig and the owners should take part of the blame though.

Former A's/Dodgers pitcher Bob Welch passes away at 57. Welch won the Cy in 1990 when he won 27 games. He played on three of the A's WS teams winning a ring in 1989, and in 2001 as a pitching coach for the AZ Diamondbacks. Cause of death is currently unavailable.

The Cincinnati Reds reinstate Joey Votto from DL.

The Seattle Mariners move Taijuan Walker from the DL to AAA Tacoma. There's no timetable on his return, expect him to make a few starts in minors before his promotion.

Duquette says sending struggling Machado to AAA an option. As more knowledge of his bat throwing incident comes to light, I think they should demote him on principle.

The Pirates finally promote Gregory Polanco. Polanco was kept in AAA seemingly to give the team an extra option year. Polanco is hyped as the next 5 tool phenom e.g., Puig, Trout, Harper

The Tampa Bay DEVIL Rays had a shaman come out to relieve Tropicana Field of "bad spirits." Yes, that really happened.
