I still have my Yankees hard hat from when I was a kid. Doesn't look brand new but looks great

We know Albert Pujols isn't fast. It was proven twice last week when Manny Machado nailed him at first base with great plays at third. We also know that Pujols could barely run last season because of a foot injury.
In the eighth inning, Pujols tagged up at first base and advanced to second on a deep fly ball to center field. Puig caught the ball as if no one was on base. We know well his love for throwing out baserunners, so the fact that he caught the ball so nonchalantly signaled he wasn't really worried about Pujols.
After Pujols slid into second, Puig glared toward him, looking well aware of the fact that Pujols had made him look like a fool. Later in the inning, Puig motioned to Pujols that he should try to take third base, but that didn't happen. When the inning was over, Puig passed Pujols on the field. The two exchanged words and Pujols went back the Angels' dugout mocking Puig with a series of hand gestures and facial expressions.

That's kind of fun. I was planning on watching King vs. Cook tomorrow. I might have to check the LA vs. LAAAAAA ( still funny, Tinn ) too. Both teams are in the first place fight and Hector Santiago is probably the only person on the planet that has it worse than Alex Wood. He has to face Clayton Kershaw.

Yesterday King Felix lowered his ERA to .189 and WHIP to 0.88, all while adding to his existing record of 15 consecutive starts of at least 7IP with 2 earned runs or fewer.
David Price made his first start for Detroit in which he received a no-decision. Price went 8 innings with 3ER, 10K and 0BB. No one has made a first start for a new team with 0 walks since 1972* ( I'm not 100% positive the year was '72. It was close though. )
The two best in the game finally faced eachother when Mike Trout took the batter's box against Clayton Kershaw, narrated by Vin Scully. Trout got the edge with a double, single and a K. Kershaw didn't seem like Kershaw until the 6 inning. LAD won after something like 3 LAAAAA errors.

Miami is less confident they'll be able to sign Stanton to a long term extension.
Holy shit can you imagine that guy as a free agent? He's young with power from planet Krypton. I can't forsee one GM not opening their wallets for him.
Troy Tulowitzki sick and tired of losing in Colorado. If shit don't change by 2015 expect him to request a trade.

I root for the Oreo's and would kill for them to win the East with the DEVIL Rays in 2nd and I have doubts either will happen more since the Ray's traded Price. But with the East in disarray will the Orioles be able to hold them off? They could use a starter and someone to step up because I can't see their bats carrying them into the playoffs.
They're playing great team ball, at this point it's working because the East is sucking and the Birds are consistent. In their division that's all they'll need to win.
I'm hoping they do it. Up 5 games....Make it more, much more!

Josh Beckett to possibly retire he has cysts in his hip and a torn labrum that won't heal without surgery. Done for the season.
Brandon Belt back to DL with concussion symptoms. Has missed 11 of 19 games.

Clayton 7ip 7h 3ER, 7SO in a no decision win and that's the headline everywhere. Of course it wasn't about how LAA kept battling back then lost with a walk off.
Clayton's last outing in Atlanta was 2 outs from a complete game shutout while giving up 9H and 9SO. After starting the season sitting out what 6 weeks? His stats are caught up with the leagues pitchers and he's around 110 count a game.
I'd force Mattingly to give Clayton an extra day every other start for his next two but knowing Mattingly he'll probably start him on short rest each week.
Dodgers taking 3 out of 4 from the Angels helped. Richards shutout LAD in the 1st game and Ryu shutout LAAAA in the 4th game.
The series was a transformation in that Clayton 2nd game ending with a walk off error for Uribe who slugged a three-run homer earlier. It shifted the plant's axis. Haren gives up 1 to LAAA while getting shelled up to that game. Haren ERA in the last ten games is over 6ER!
Trout is a monster but It's was Josh Hamilton who I was thinking about.
Entering last season everyone was talking about the best players, who'd you build your team around TODAY! It came down to Hamilton and Kemp.....A season and a half later, I'd say neither! Both have had their issues.

Ying and Yang in NL WEST, Beckett out, Belt out. Brandon Belt being out helps a little, hope he gets better. In October.killeverything wrote:Josh Beckett to possibly retire he has cysts in his hip and a torn labrum that won't heal without surgery. Done for the season.

Beckett came out looking like a comeback player of the year possibly? Then he started to slow up and now it's over. We sure gave him a lot of money to toss that no hitter this year.
Even in Boston I liked Beckett but thought it was a bad move from day one. We gave him a lot of cash for 8 wins 14 losses over 2 and half seasons which turned into more time on the DL then on the field.
When we got Beckett I instantly thought of Darren Dreifort, we gave him a ton of cash, I hated it from the start and part of the we don't need Pedro Martinez with Dreifort.....Who spent years on the DL, the only thing that panned out was their wallets.
Darren Dreifort 9 years 48 wins 60 losses 4.36ERA Made a $kabillion in LA
Pedro Martinez 18 years 219 wins 100 losses 2.93ERA 2 years in LA, worth every penny, to someone else.

Hernandez, 33, 6-8 with a 3.87 ERA in 23 appearances, 20 of them starts. He will take the place of Josh Beckett.
If only Beckett could have held together.
Dodgers need some bullpen arms, I'll bet they'll pick up one or two but they have a problem with the back end of their rotation and they don't have anyone on the farm to fill in. So I see LA picking up all these over priced below average arms.
Clayton Kershaw
Zack Greinke
Hyun-Jin Ryu
*Dan Haren
*Roberto Hernandez
I recently read behind the scenes the Dodgers were aggressively on the attack to attain David Price right up to the end. That would have been too good to be true. Fuck it. It's odd being on the other end of this Yankee/Boston break the bank attitude.

It looked odd at first but after a couple replays it's kind of crazy. I'd even say he stopped it in time to be full check. That's a lot of torque either way.
Still not going to say I'm a total puig fan till he cleans up his act but I see promise and keep remembering how he got here.

The Marlins and their injury problems are still fighting.
Brad Penny wins his first game since Sept. 25, 2011!
Penny became the 13th different starter the Marlins have used this season.
Brad Penny, 10 years after being traded from the organization, rejoined Miami and did his part in helping the team get on track.
Penny allowed two runs, one earned, over five innings, and the Marlins claimed a 4-3 win over the Reds at Great American Ball Park.
It was Penny's 49th with the Marlins, which ties him with A.J. Burnett for fourth most in franchise history. It also was career win No. 120 for the 36-year-old, who was back in the big leagues for the first time in two years.

- LAAAAA pitcher Tyler Skaggs to undergo Tommy John.

- Plethora of suck Hector Noesi morphs into an ace every time he faces a former team ( former because he fucking sucks ) as he 5H 1ER Seattle.
- What else? Oh yeah, fuck the Yankees.
Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread
Man, losing Skaggs sucks. He was just coming around and now, bam. Here's the Angels rotation going forward:
Weaver - mediocre at best now
Richards - potential ace
Wilson - fuck me, he's our #3
Santiago - potential to be a good #3 type
Shoemaker - streaky, but should be good for a .500 record and around a 4.15 ERA.
Given how the Angels offense has shut down since the ASB, that ain't good.
