Well Vince owns the copyright on the name "Ultimate Warrior" as well as various image rights. Not even legally changing his name to "Warrior" changes those facts. I can't see where they'd ever chance giving that guy a live mic on their programming.Ziggy Sawdust wrote:He is on good terms with Vince now, and is appearing in the Legends of Wrestlemania game, so dont be so suprised if something is in the works.Garbageman wrote:I'm sorry... Odds are current Valley of the Sun resident the Honky Tonk Man would more likely be inducted if they were looking at locally residing retired wrestlers.

are you sure vince owns the name? i think warrior owns it, as well as the image of the character. im sure vince owns the video rights of when warrior appeared in the wwf and wcw though. i dont see him coming back to the wwe ever. i am suprised at his silence since the return match last summer though.Well Vince owns the copyright on the name "Ultimate Warrior" as well as various image rights. Not even legally changing his name to "Warrior" changes those facts. I can't see where they'd ever chance giving that guy a live mic on their programming.
What's more of a joke, a rock n' roll icon, playing in front of thousands of fans with a legendary catalogue of classic songs, or some anonymous loser that can't stop whining about him?

Cowboy Bill Watts is the next person who will be inducted in the Hall Of Fame. He will be inducted by Jim Ross.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
So at some point this month, Cena will wrestle the Big Show for the number one contender spot. Something like that will happen to put Cena vs. Edge at Wrestlemania.
I'm pumped for Undertaker/HBK. Call me crazy, but I actually think HBK is going to win it.
*I'm so fucking tired of hearing Michael Cole say "vintage Michaels" or "vintage Cena." I don't think he's cut out to handle calling the matches. Hopefully the draft will bring good ol JR back to RAW. They had best leave The King be.

Either that or you'll see Cena win one of the MITB qualifyers.bigbuttskinner wrote:So at some point this month, Cena will wrestle the Big Show for the number one contender spot. Something like that will happen to put Cena vs. Edge at Wrestlemania.

'Taker/HBK, I just don't see Undertaker dropping that streak to Shawn. Had they gone with Kozloff, maybe. I could see them building him up huge as the guy who snapped the streak, but Michaels is tired, I don't think he can carry that kind of heat.
I'd actually like to see J.R. work with Matt Stryker for a few weeks, just to see what you'd get. Lawler needs to retire. His screeching is getting old. Cole's a tool who would be a good replacment for Mike Tennay.

I can deal with that. The thing that annoys me is when he says "You are watching the longest running, weekly episodic television program in history" about 3 or 4 times a show!!!bigbuttskinner wrote:*I'm so fucking tired of hearing Michael Cole say "vintage Michaels" or "vintage Cena." No, Warrior owns the complete rights to his gimmick and name, including using the word 'Ultimate'. He took the WWF to court in 2000 and won since he used the gimmick as Dingo Warrior with the same face paint and mannerisms in World Class prior to his WWF days.Garbageman wrote:Well Vince owns the copyright on the name "Ultimate Warrior" as well as various image rights. I want Grisham and Striker on RAW! Striker is awesome. Grisham, although no JR, is much, much better than Cole. Cole is makes me long for the days of Kevin Kelly... and I fucking hated Kevin Kelly!
Lawler, to me, is hit or miss anymore. When he's being serious or it's a big match, he's still pretty damn good. But for the most part, he seems to be going downhill.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
He repeatedly says a lot of shit, every week, that I hate.Michael Cole
I know they have to sell the PPV....that's their jobs far more than calling the fake moves the mic'ed shitheads get wrong most of the time anyway...
But they REALLY need to stop repeating the same fucking shill AND the fucking match stipulation the exact same way 400 times a match.
Try some new goddamn words once in a while!!
If any WWE newb or anyone just tuning in.... has to wait more than 3 minutes to know every single detail of the match so far, the stipulation, the fued and the wrestlers careers, I say tough shit.
The Announcing SUCKS!!!
Ya could get fucking parrots to do it better and cheaper.
I dont need to be reminded of every fucking detail of the match, the PPV and everyone on the match every 100 seconds thru the whole match, EVERY MATCH.
Call the moves.
Stop the fucking shill for a few minutes at least.
Even if I wanted to see the PPV, the pathetic BEGGING by the announce team is such a joke, and then the same fucking garbage they repeat on RAW 1000 tmes is repeated to the people who already paid $60 and are watching the PPV.
The hard hard sell is total total shit.
Does Vince think the majority of the millions of WWF fans have alzheimers?
I know his shitty booking over the years is good evidence that he does, but the announcers repeating the same shit dozens of times in a 4 minute match makes me change channels way more often than I used to.
...and I laugh at buying PPVs. The fucking shilling never stops, even after you paid your money.
Eat shit and die Vince!!!!
"Afraid that the people might ask for a little more than the shit they get..."

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
Still not buying he owns "Ultimate" as far as merch rights. I can see where he can get away with the face paint since that's more difficult to copyright (Sting had similar face paint to Warriors for years... plus the people who own the merch rights for "The Crow" never seemed to be able to get a case against Sting).Ziggy Sawdust wrote: No, Warrior owns the complete rights to his gimmick and name, including using the word 'Ultimate'. If you believe Warrior when he claims things like that, I'll just quote Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and say He's only lying when his lips are moving!
As for the "Exotic" Adrain Street videos, that guy was an awful wrestler. Although it killed his career, putting the then obese Adrian Adonis in the similar gimmick was a better move. At least Adonis could wrestle good matches!

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
They have Joey"I knock out JBL"Styles and not using him as an announcer! They should switch Joey and Michael Cole roles. And I still can't believe that they still keeping Michael Cole.Remember the time he gave away the winner of a main event at Wrestlemania?I'm surprised that Vince didn't walk to ringside and tell him:YOU'RE FIRED.
By the way,I didn't think that Exotic Adrian Street was that bad.The heat he had in San Antonio was unbelievable. As for Adrian Adonis,he was given that gimmick as punishment for getting so fat.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
Stryker is excellent on the mic. JBL was great when he wasn't in character. Michael Cole makes me long for the days of Gordon Solie and his "nuts in a vice" voice. I'd even take a return to the mic by Vince before I'd listen to Cole any longer.
As an aside, ECW sucked as usual, however, Christian and Jonny-John Nitro/Morrison put on an excellent show in the brief moments they had to work together. A singles match between those two could be excellent.

Seems pretty obvious to me, they're dumping every lethargic shithead they've got on the roster in there with Punk so MITB doesn't overshadow the rest of what's (so far) a hardly world changing card.slash4pres wrote:Somehow they've already managed to fuck up the MITB match

God forbid the fans have something to look forward to because HHH/Orton Part 9 and Edge/Cena/Big Slow ain't it.
