Mike Brown has redeemed himself for the unbelievable stupidity of not trading Ochocinco for two first round picks to the Redskins.

What took them so long? McBadd is 2 or 3 years removed from being able to be an NFL QB. It was stupid for Washington to trade for him, and even worse for MN to pick him up. I understand that Ponder may not have been ready, but there had to be a better alternative than McNabb.

I think the "not pulling the trigger on the Saints trade offer and sticking with drafting Akili 'savior' Smith" debacle had more to do with this trade than anything else. Hue Jackson is still very respected in the Cincinnati front office and it was his prodding of Marvin Lewis to lean on MB and also to lean on MB himself.

Any other coach . . . no deal. I wanted Hue Jackson to be Cincy's offensive coordinator YEARS ago. When he was in Cincy, Chad Mucho Sucko and TJ Douschemandzadeh were kept in check. When he left, those two douche bags pretty much ran the team and got away with whatever they wanted. I told every Raider fan I knew that when Hue Jackson was hired that he will be their coach for a long time.

Mike has usually drafted well . . . it's his free agency cheapness that kills most Bengals fans.

I view today's trade as basically a win-win for both teams. It's definitely a huge win for the Bengals. They get two prime draft picks for a guy they didn't even need any more. For the Raiders, the trade will work well as long as Palmer comes in and plays well. If not, it's obviously going to be a disaster for them.

Big game coming up on Sunday night. Peyton or no Peyton, 0-6 or not, we need to get a win against the Saints in N.O. This is payback for two years ago! We will be fired up for this one!! I'm sure people are already writing us off, and rightfully so. That'll happen when you're 0-6. But I think we've got a shot in this one. This is our season. The playoffs are pretty much out of the question, so beating the Saints as well as the Pats are really the only things that can make this season better.

He has ideas? :D Ponder couldn't be any worse than McNabb, and when he played the other night he could actually hit wrs in stride.

Fuck this season.

At this point they should play Ponder and see what he's got. If they lose the rest of their games they have a shot at the #1 pick which they could use for Luck or even better to trade out and build up their line.

Even picks #2 - #5 could be valuable. Another team might want that pick so they could package it and move up to get #1. And the way it's looking now rather than a bunch of teams in the middle it's going to be a half dozen teams with 3 wins or less. 2-14 might have pretty much guaranteed the 1st or 2nd pick in previous seasons, now it might be #6.

Imagine what would happen if Week 17's Indy vs Jax determined who picks #1? The teams would be punting on 1st down. With instructions from the coaches not to field the punts.

Yeah, i don't expect him to be some incredible qb this year, but at least he looked like he cared and can get out of the way. Not to mention he's already way more accurate than McNabb.

Probably have to skip the Saints/Colts game. Sundays are my only day off and I have to move from Woodland Hills to Studio City. Yay new apartment! But fitting THAT and my usual football game debauchery in at the same time just ain't going to happen.

Cowboys hosting rams this Sunday.
If there was ever an opponent that can get a team rolling, the rams might
be that team.
Read today Bradford is day to day with a high ankle sprain. Doesn't that injury usually require at least 1 week to heal up?

On the other hand, LOSING to the Rams would be devastating to any NFC East team.

I'm praying for a Rams win, naturally.

Devastating indeed.
A loss to the lowly Rams would most likely equal an end to the season.
Would be extremely difficult to get off the ground after that.

I don't think the COWBOYS will lose to the Rams. But then again, this team is so full of surprises specially in the 4th quarter :P

Speaking of COWBOYS, how about a Fly-on-the-wall/Caption time with this one:

Romo and the Cowboys are in a no-win situation with the media/critics.

The team chose to run the ball, force NE to use their timeouts late in the 4th quarter. The o-line and the RB should take the blame for not gaining at least 1 first down.
Romo already has the rep for giving a game away in the 4th, so of course the coaching staff decided to run the ball.
Now if the coaches decided to throw and Romo was picked off, then of course the critics would have come in masses to question the play call and ask why Dallas did not run the ball.
So WTF!!!!

It really comes down to being Romo's fault. He has given away so many games in the 4th Qtr that there is no way coaches can trust him in that situation. The play calling was way to conservative and that falls on the coaches, but can you blame them for not wanting to put the ball in Romo's hands? Romo could have adjusted the play at the line and audibled to a different type of run if he had made the correct read. I think one simple set of instructions would have solved everything: "If it's not there, throw the ball away. Don't force anything."

We've Won Something! Man Alive, We've Won Something!
by Christopher Gates on Oct 22, 2011 3:39 PM PDT in Minnesota Vikings 2011 Season

Of course, this isn't exactly an award that you'd like to win by any stretch of the imagination.

Yes, with Chris Cook's arrest on Saturday morning on two counts of domestic assault, the Minnesota Vikings now have more arrests than any team in the National Football League since 2000.

Yes, more than the Oakland Raiders (who are, actually, much further down the list than you'd expect). Yes, more than the Cincinnati Bengals. More than every team in the NFL.

Dolphins are the worst team in the league. Rams are bad but still better. Colts are just trying to tank it. I hope Miami gets the #1 pick.
