I don't get the whole texting/surfing the web on your phone while out in public at all but as far as I can tell it's pretty damn common, in fact the fucking norm these days especially at sporting events/concerts etc. Remember when bin laden died and the stadium at a mets phillies game went nuts? I bet most of them spent quite a bit of time on their phones even before the news was spreading, look in the stands sometime and just try and count how many people are looking at their phone, might as well count the stars.

I have some cell phone possessed friends who are constantly on line when we go out to dinner or they come out to one of my shows..

Ask them a sports question or the band who played a certain song or I wonder how warm it got in Tampa today and they'll have it dug up off their phone in 30 seconds..

I hope I never have to rely on my cellphone that much in my life..
