The next inning, bases loaded, Utley takes out the 2nd baseman and stops the double play. Mattingly takes a walk, GAME DELAY AGAIN. THE 2nd BASEMAN wasn't even close to the bag but they called it an out. Utley went way out to drop the 2nd baseman but it was ok. What the fuck is replay for anyway, to overturn the correct call but can't be used on bad calls.

If you want to see how take out a 2nd baseman, watch Utley's play in the 4th. If you want to see an out at 2nd where the baseman wasn't even close to the bag, watch the same play.

This is as sloppy as it gets. This isn't baseball and I'm sounding like a whiny bitch so what else is around the league.

------------------

The Cubs destroyed the Dbacks.
The Pirates destroyed the Cards.
I really like the Pirates as an underdog going down this stretch, they've been solid all year and have the added experience of last years run into the WC. Cubs vs Pirates would make a great series. With that said, I'm starting to warm up to the Cubs.

The NL is the Card's to lose, after that it's going to be fun battle.

Best score of the night.
White Sox's 12 Royals 1 - No fights have been reported yet.
I think the baseball gods are trying everything to hurt the Dodgers chances as they get closer to the playoffs.
Utley's attempted take out of the 2nd baseman was a thing of beauty.
I think the running joke for rest of year is (what did the ump call it?) neighborhood baseball plays.
I really like the everyday players the Dodgers have been bringing up.
I look forward to saying goodbye to all these over priced vets that aren't even hitting their weight. Although there is something to say for vets when the playoffs begin.

Sure glad the Dodgers let Ramirez walk.
And whoever gets that LAA GM job is f'd big time.

Meta have put themselves in a terrible situation with the Harvey innings cap.
I read the GM today said Harvey could be skipped multiple times this month in order
to protect him. WTF!
Plan accordingly. IDIOTS.

They couldn't plan accordingly when they weren't aware. Mr. Harvey ( read: Scott Boras ) let them know he has an innings limit as recently as two days ago.

Harvey repeatedly fought going to a six man rotation, having starts skipped, having a lighter workload, etc. They ( read: Scott Boras ) had no idea NYM had a shot at the postseason. Matt Harvey is still under team control for like 614K( ? ). So someone will be due a big payday. Hence the new limit.

I'm not saying it's wrong this is his career/future and he's coming off TJ. How they did the team sucks though.

2016 MLB schedule has been released.

Yankees are making 3 west coast trips. Gives me the opportunity to see them
in Oakland, San Diego and LA(Angels) over 3 different months of the season.

Plus, Giants travel to NYC for a series I believe in June. I might need to make a trip back to NYC for a game and make a weekend out of it

I will forever hate Inter-League. The only time those two should face each other is the World Series. The last being 1962. The MFY is 5-2 against the Giants in the postseason.

They've played each other 7 times! I didn't realize they faced each other so many times until I read the excellent book 'The Old Ball Game: How Christy Mathewson, John McGraw, and The NY Giants Created Modern Baseball.'

I believe NY/SF vs. MFY have the second most appearances against each other. The leading matchup is Brooklyn/LA vs. MFY whom have sparred 11 times! Those rivalries were a helluva lot meaner before both the Giants and Dodgers moved West. Fuck, those three hated each other.

Your post reminds me of that brilliant HBO documentary about the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn. Did you see that film?

I disagree. Inter-league is just fine. Why not play teams from the opposite league? I prefer those match ups compared to having to play your division rivals up to 18 times a season.

I haven't . I'll have to look into it, thanks for the heads up.

Fantastic documentary, tons of awesome footage, covers in detail how the Dodgers and Giants left including the killer rivalry's those three teams had. It's put together really well and sweeps you back in time so much you can smell the peanuts and foul stadium.

Thanks for the reminder I'm going to buy it......If it's out there. Do you remember the name, is it....Brooklyn Dodgers Ghosts Of Flatbush?

Not finding the DVD on amazon at the moment....

* Just seen HBO hasn't released it on DVD. I'll have to do more digging. I might be able to watch it online but would rather have the DVD.
I seen this offer, it's a DVR copy for sale on some junk site I'm not familiar with.

Ioffer......Never heard of ioffer so I'll have to dig into what that site is all about. I've bought DVR and even Laser Disk copies of unreleased stuff that's turned out well.

Ioffer - Brooklyn Dodgers Ghosts Of Flatbush
http://www.ioffer.com/i/brooklyn-dodger ... d-66561376

*edit again*
It's on youtube in about 10 parts....

Looking forward to reading more of Hank's anti the modern era baseball player rants soon. He has bashed Bonds for what seems like years.
Now he can take a turn at ARod for a change.

I think back to when I read Aaron's bio. It was while ago, I was in Jr. High. I still recall Aaron talking about being suspended for cheating his entire career.

Wait. No I don't! That never happened.

The only people that support Asteriskrod are Yankee fans. Most Yankee fans aren't from NY. They are fun to talk to though. When the Bulls had Jordan and Pippen, that was their shit too. They trade in their Jeter jerseys for a Lebron when basketball starts.

Hey, aren't you a cowboys fan? I bet when SF had Montana/Young and Rice you were all about it.

Kill-What is wrong with you? No self respecting Cowboys fan would root for Montana/Young. I hated that team and still hate that team. I wish them nothing but failure. When Dallas marched into SF back in '93 and Alvin Harper caught the slant pass to secure the win, that was a great play. At the same time when D. Clark caught the pass from Montana to win the game back in '82, well that really sucked. A low point if you will.

Anyway, Hank Aaron should keep his mouth shut. There might not have been Steroids when he played, but there were "greenies". He probably took his fair share, so wouldn't you say the "greenies" were a form of PED use?

There is a massive difference in what Aaron took compared to Rodriguez. That's why one is the undisputed HR king and one should be banned.

This coming from a guy "machado" who stated he never liked his home teams because that's who everyone was rooting for so he'd root against them......He's not going to root for a team everyone is cheering for but he's a Yankee and a Cowboy fan.

Hypocrisy logic....A math equation that would break a calculator. Whatever floats your wagon.

----------------------------------------

I thought the Card's were going into a slide after losing 5 of 6 and lost both series with the Pirates and Cubs. Not sure if they're playing call ups or what.

The Giants have completely folded the last couple weeks. After years of watching them comeback over and over down the stretch they might actually be in bad enough shape to finally crumble. I really wanted them to take the last WC spot. The National League about set already.

I still want to see a Mets/Pirates vs Cubs series.

I'm starting to think what Kill has been saying for a while. The NL West isn't going to do much damage. They've been on a hot streak vs slumping teams with one run games and games that should have blown out made closer by their Parkinson's bullpen and lack of hitting isn't going to cut it. They can't play that way in the playoffs.
The new guys are doing great but changing the entire line up down the stretch who do you start in the postseason. Instead of resting a guy here and there Mattingly has been tossing and moving players all over. I bet he works himself into a cluster fuck.

KILL, after Kershaw's 132 pitch outting, you mention how he's ridden.
Kershaw came back and won but no where near the command he had vs the Giants. The stats tell a different story then what I watched. HR on the first pitch, only 8 SO, 2BB abnormal, constant first pitch ball's when vs the Giants it was like 31 of 35 first pitch strikes or some ridiculous number.
I watched every pitch and he was straining to dominate. This is how Clayton ends up getting blasted in the post season and exactly what's going to happen AGAIN if they go in AGAIN.

So ya, I'm not feeling a deep run for LAD if they go. The team during this hot streak seems faceless. Key players in slumps with some youngsters getting early hit's that wont last. The rotation still isn't set and everyone needed to make the team solid is injured. Puig, Kendrick, Enrique Hernandez, Grandal and Rollins.....Losing faith.

In the AL I can't believe how the Twins are in the thick of things.

KC has 3 wins in their last 11 games.

I never thought SF had it this year. IF Cain and maybe Timmy can bounce back ( Lincecum signed to a minor league contract ) and maybe add a Zimmerman then I like their chances next year. Well they still have bullpen and health issues, but I like the IF.

Matt Williams was booed in a press conference today. I'm surprised Mattingly's head is not on a fucking chopping block right now. Williams deserves a lot of blame for Washington's collapse. If the Dodgers don't win the WS this year, they won't, Mattingly is responsible. He looks bad. Like Dusty Baker bad.

I hate the ownership but it is awesome to see the Twins doing so well. I've got a buddy from Minny and he's been long suffering but is ecstatic right now.

The fucking Cubs are playing pretty well right now. The pen screwed Lester but I think they still make the postseason. I see a NL Central vs. Toronto WS right now.

I've been hearing a lot of talk about Cespedes should be considered for NL MVP. The fire he brought to the Mets is certainly worthy of consideration.

I was at that game last night (Cubs fan living in Cincinnati!). They said the attendance was 19,620. BULLSHIT. There couldn't have been more than 10,000 people there, given their shitty season and the overcast weather (thunderstorms came around 10pm) -- we could sit practically anywhere we wanted!

Votto goes ballistic. He asked for a time out and Bill Welke didn't grant it.

Votto is a punk. He bumped an umpire earlier this year and now this
embarrassing display.
Get in the box. Stay in the box. The calls were borderline but did those calls give Votto the right to show up the umpire? NOPE!

I haven't paid too much attention to Votto but you never touch an ump. Some of them are horrible and that's why we have instant replay now. Does he have a rep for being a hot head? Like is he another Bryce Harper ( whom has declared war on baseball this season apparently ).

Speaking of Amaro Jr. from earlier I came across this interesting little tidbit. Mr. Jr. has had the team finish worse than they were the year before every year since he took over.

2009 (takes over a year after Phillies win World Series): Lose World Series

2010: Lose in NLCS

2011: Lose in NLDS

2012: 3rd place, NL East, .500 record

2013: 4th place, NL East

2014: 5th place, NL East, .451 record

2015 (so far): 5th place, NL East, .386 record

Womp, womp.

Nelson Cruz* just became the 4th player in Mariners history with a 40 HR season. Joining Griffey Jr., Asteriskrod, and Jay Buhner.

Panda?

I met Prince and his Dad Cecil when Prince was 18 in Rookie league with the Ogden Raptors. At 18 Prince looked like Fat Albert while Cecil looked like he ate Fat Albert, Cecil was several years retired and added more if you can imagine.
Prince tore up Rookie ball but I can help but flashing back and thinking he'd have a hard time making it a long career with his fat daddy's genes. He was blasting the league pitchers but at 18 he must have been 240lb.
On the meeting side, Prince was humble like a quit kid who spoke softly, Cecil was all jolly and enjoying life. It honestly feels like yesterday while it is more like 13 years ago? I feel like an old fuck. Every time I see Prince I cant get his 18 year old pudgy baby face fat Albert look out of my skull.

Anyone see Mark Trumbo singles to center, is thrown out at second on 4-2-5 putout? Awesome.

I read some quotes out of comedian Billy Crystal's book and got a chuckle. He talks about some of the people he pissed off or didn't like him including Yankee.....

Joe DiMaggio, the legendary baseball player, once punched Crystal in the stomach, hard, after the comedian introduced him at a big Yankees event.
His unforgivable crime was not to have described DiMaggio as the Yankees' 'greatest living player'.

That's a Yankee player or fan for ya.....Then again maybe he hates Jews.

Felix wins his 17th, Mariners ace on track for 7th straight 200-K 200-IP season......ALL FOR NOT.

It's hard to argue anyone above Dimaggio ( Joe not Dom ) as being the greatest CF of all time. Me personally I say Mays ( who idolized Dimaggio ) followed by Griffey Jr. All 3 are good choices.

That said Joe was a fucking asshole. Marilyn left him because he beat her up ( 7 year itch jealousy ). The guy was literally a piece of shit. Funny story. His little brother Red Sox CF Dominic Dimaggio was a pretty intelligent guy.

Back in the day players didn't make a lot of green. Even the greats like Joe. Anyways his smart little brother ended up getting a patent ( details I'm not sure ) on something to do with car door interiors. Anyways he obviously made bucks.

The story goes is that Joe was pretty pissed off about having to get money from his lesser talented brother. The guy is ARGUABLY the greatest CF of all time, but he's also the guy that beat up Marilyn and was known as a bitter asshole. Put it this way he made Ted Williams seem approachable.

Ted was a different kind of ego, he was a straight up, stand up, say it to your face kind of guy and had some honor to go with it. Joe DiMaggo was a closeted freak who worried more about what people thought of him.

I loved Dimaggio growing up seeing the clips and stuff until I got older and read the story's about how big of a jealous prick of anger he was to Marilyn. As if she didn't have enough head problems. He fucked her head up more then Hollywood and the world did.
Hiring private investigators to follow Marilyn around like Sinatra did with Ava Gardner. He tapped her phones, DiMaggio would were a disguise and stalk her around. DiMaggio was obsessed with marring the hottest chick in the world to feed his ego and obsession with his public image.

Portrayed as a golden boy American hero. DiMaggio was a deadbeat dad, cheated on his wife's, was a drunk who called his only child "Joe Jr" an irritant as a baby. He was estranged most of his life and never had much to do with his son as far as father son love goes. Joe was more concerned with his persona. A typical New York Yankee megalomaniac.

DiMaggio treated his son like one he regretted having.

They recently did another show about Joe and Marilyn or something not long ago. I'd rather watch Fatal Attraction.

Reds Joey Votto suspended 2 games because of incident with ump.

MFY horse-faced 1B Teixira out for season with leg fracture.
