My boyfriend met Kane at some hockey event a few months ago and went up to him and thanked him for putting Cooke in the hospital. He goes "well, somebody had to do it"

Kane is my second favorite player now after Michael Haley, lol.

Dear Michael Haley,

For about the last 18 years or so, my beloved and once proud team has been one of the jokes of the NHL. Fuck, even pathetic Flyer fan, who hasn't won shit since before Jimmy Carter was president makes fun of us. Not to mention, they dress like a pumpkin.

But since that glorious Friday night on Long Island, nobody is making fun of us anymore. Hell, they even shut up about our barn.
Thank you for recalling the ghost of my boy, Bob Nystrom and sticking up for your team since Colin Campbell lets the Pens do whatever they want, somebody had to.

If you never do another thing in that beautiful orange and blue sweater, you still have a fan for life.
THANK YOU.

Quebec thinks they can get them. The and their arena are under lease for 5 years, so if the young guys can get it right by then and get a new arena built, they shouldn't go anywhere.

PS. Thanks for ruining my fun.

That was beautiful! I've always liked the Islanders, because you NEVER know what they are going to do. But I'm officially a fan now. I actually would have rather been home watching that game that at the Rangers game on Friday after that clip I saw.

I think Quebec and Winnipeg will get teams eventually, but I'm not so sure the Isles will go anywhere. They are a mess, operationally, but they are also a storied franchise, who have won cups, and are a much bigger part of the league's history than Phoenix, Columbus, or Atlanta.

If I were to bet, the first team to move would be the Thrashers.

Well, I don't think they suck, so I can't pick that.
I would guess that is has something to do with not winning a playoff series for 18 teams.

Mario comes down from Mt. Olympus when something happens to his precious Penguins. He needs to shut the fuck up. His team deserves a beating.

It's funny how most fans except Pens think just this. Weird how he forgets Cooke is on his team.

Yup, I gotta agree. The Isles did enact frontier justice on Friday, and there needs to be punishment for that, but what more could Lemieux have asked for? I guess Haley could have gotten a few games too, but there were some major suspensions and fines handed out.

There's no way you can make the arguement Lemieux is making all the while employing the worst cheap shot artist in the league. That last hit on Tyutin, for which Cooke got 4 games, should have got him 20 - given his track record. He saw the guys numbers, could have let up, went for the kill shot - that's the definition of cheap. Just because you CAN hit a guy, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Even though you DO hit a guy, doesn't mean you have to try and end his career with that one hit.

I'm not sure why Cooke didn't get more games for the Tyutin hit, but I'm guessig it's either:

1. He dldn't hurt him seriously.
2. He plays on the PENS.

I don't think Haley deserves a suspension. He didn't suckerpunch anybody or illegally hit anybody. He fought 3 dudes, who all seemed like they wanted to fight him.

I didn't like him going after Johnson, and I don't buy that Johnson was calling him out. Technically you could give him something for instigating that.

Like I said though - the Isles were adequately punished IMO, and as much as I loved Mario the player, Mario the owner needs to shut his pie hole.

I think the only reason he went after him was because of him laughing at DP when he was hurt.

But I can see why you wouldn't and I'm sure you understand why I did like it.
I thought Gillies was the one player crossed the line.

I ws watching a Pens game this year and Crosby rubbed some guy with his glove in the face because hit him legally and not that hard. Then one of his wannabe goons comes in and blindsides the opposing player. The broacaster says "that's what you get when you take a shot at Crosby!"......

I'm like Crosby took a shot at him!

Huge Hawks fan. Too bad they suck. My wife wants to leave me for Patrick Sharpe. Seriously, has a team ever won the cup and failed to make the playoffs the following season?

Even though my B's haven't been playing too well lately, I gotta say, watching Brad Marchand out there is the most exciting thing I've seen as a B's fan in years. I hope he sticks around for a long while.

Anyone else think $26 million/5 years for Dustin Byfuglien is beyond nuts! Hats off for a great season, but he's been as cold as ice lately and never put up more than 35 points or so until this year. If this is a contract year anomaly, that contract is going to sting. How the hell is the Nordiques GM supposed to move that?

How can they sign him to a deal like that when they may not even own the team next year? It's like they're just fucking the next guy over.

Trade talks continue between B's and Maple Leafs for Tomas Kaberle.
