Does anyone else here find it amazing that he's still playing in the NHL after two whole fucking decades?!? The guy came on the scene when I was still in middle school for crying out loud!
yeah, it is incredible. And he's still a top 6 winger imo. Was last year in Florida anyway.

Really good deal for Calgary at that price.

I loved seeing him on the Devils a couple years ago (who traded him for what became Kyle Palmieri). Jagr unites half the NHL fanbase because we all cheered him on at one point or another.

Yeah, NHL fans who are raising little kids right now cheered for Jagr in high school, and 23 or so years later he's still playing. That's just insanely impressive, if you ask me.

went to opening night coyotes/ducks game last night ... coyotes offense/defense looked too good for underperforming ducks at first but by end of game ducks won 5-4, sloppy but fun game. I don't think Getslaf got on the ice even once?? Perry was MVP last night

Getzlaf is out injured. Or he was for that game.

Was in Vegas this week and took in the Sabres/Knights game. It was a blast! Great arena; what the fans lack in hockey knowledge they make up in enthusiasm; plus 1000 or so Sabres fans made for a great atmosphere.

Building was packed. Apparently they've sold 15,000 season tickets. Knights merch is all over town. New York, New York hotel and casino is party central before and after games.

Best part, won a chunk of change on a three game parlay. Flyers/Panthers, Lightning/Devils, Sabres/Knights all over 5.5 goals. Nothing like being there in person when you have a bet riding on the game.

Anyone considering heading there to see a game, I would highly recommend it!

I was in Vegas earlier this year. Glad to hear it is going well so far. Gallant is a solid coach, and there is a lot to like about Vegas. Next time I go to Vegas, I will go to a game for sure.

I think Marc Bergevin, our GM, overreacted to an early playoff exit last year and made too many changes this past off season. He should be fired.

Habs had a good defensive squad last year - it wasn't all Price. They could not score in the playoffs, but Lundqvist played incredibly, and they got a bit unlucky - hitting posts, etc. It happens.

He had to tinker, not make huge changes. Turning over 2/3 of your defence is ridiculous. Markov should have been resigned, Beaulieu and Emelin played roles and were fine if used properly, and Sergeachev - although netting Drouin - will be an elite puck moving D for the next 10 years.

Essentially, he didn't improve the offence, as adding Drouin and losing Radulov is a wash, for now. He made the defence much less mobile and sound and the team is paying an enormous price. We also have 8.5 million of cap space and nobody decent to use it on.

Hindsight is 20/20, but if we still had Subban and/or Sergachev back there, amongst others, we would be way better off.

I'm shocked a team with Price, Weber, Drouin, Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, etc. is so bad though. Something needs to happen. Personally, I would try a Leafs like rebuild. This is a good draft year. Habs have assets that could net a lot of draft choices and young talent.

Should be interesting..,,

Is that possible when you're paying Price and Weber that much though? Your thoughts are on the same page as what other fans have said in regards to the make up of the team. Honestly, at the moment you're built for hockey purgatory!

Heading to the NHL 100 Classic, outdoor game in Ottawa today. Temp to be around -18 Celsius at puck drop. At very least this should be an experience for my son and I.

Skating on Parliment Hill Sunday morning too....

Go Habs Go!
Wake up Habs wake up!

I am so impressed with how Sweeney’s decisions have worked out. The young talent in Boston is incredible.

Boston, Toronto, and Tampa should be playoff locks in the Northeast for years to come.

Habs are fucked. Doing what the Leafs and Bruins did for years, hanging out between 6th and 12th in the conference and going nowhere. Do a proper rebuild already! I would sell everything that wasn’t nailed down at this year’s deadline.

Dare I say, as a hockey/Habs fan, I enjoy watching the B’s and Leafs?!

Incredible drafting and development. Providence is loaded as well, so it will be interesting to see what he trades as the well is overflowing.

Three games huge games with the Habs over the next couple of weeks. Julien seems like a dinosaur compared to how Cassidy has the transition game going. I'll
believe it when I see it with Price. Still too soon to sell off.

Atmosphere is going to be ever better in oil land when they draft 1st overall. You just know it is going to happen!

I'd love that Dahlin kid but nah, I don't think so..Arizona/Buffalo will probably be near the bottom, my guess Oilers will be picking in top 10 though..what a clusterfuck of a year..so much hope for Playoffs again and nothing...

Bruins beat the Habs 3 times in 8 days.
Whatever the fuck Tuukka stepped in, I want some. Started 3-8-2 and has since gone 14-0-2.

He stepped in to an organization with a plan they stick to. One that knows how to draft and develop players. Unlike the team they beat three times in the last 8 days.

I actually enjoy watching the Habs lose these days, so it becomes obvious chasing 8th place is futile, and they sell at the deadline to restock the organization.

Do you really trust Bergevin to do the right thing? I mean, the flaws with the Habs are so bleeding obvious. Drouin as talented as he is, is not a 1st line centre!

I would fire him. I use to like that he's not afraid to make bold moves, but he has overmanaged the situation and set the team back in the process.

The team had 103 points last year. He had one job - find a center. Not a "maybe center" for your top prospect, while dismantling a serviceable defence in the process.
