Can someone please explain to me why calling Brett Farve "Bert Favor" is an insult?

it's just hilarious
when Favre was drafted, they called his name out as "Bert Favor" by mistake...thats where it comes from
conventional wisdom says that such a mistake would be made on someone that is a relative nobody, so its hilarious considering how big Favre made it

You're wrong. His name was announced as Brett Favor. Not Bert. Try to know what you're talking about before you spout off something incorrect.

No they didn't. They called him Brett Farvra.when Favre was drafted, they called his name out as "Bert Favor" by mistake...thats where it comes from
The term bert favor was brought to this board by me. It's a name viking fans called him since a ref once reminded him he needed to call a timeout because bert forgot about doing it. the ref did him a "favor". hence his new last name.
Not sure about the Bert part.
