So he leaves the team to take care of his ailing 4 year old daughter. What a total crock of shit this is, why can't he just come out and admit his body is shot and can't play night after night.

He's funny isn't he? I saw that too and my first instinct was, "Is he going gambling somewhere?"

Despite the gaudy numbers he put up early in his career, I think AI is a huge disappointment. With that kind of athleticism and grace, he really could've been a much better player. Never really got into the team aspect. Imagine if AI learned how to pass the ball..................
Too bad Phil Jackson never had the chance to coach him. Say what you will about Phil, but he teaches the team concept.

When the 76'ers signed him this season he'd play 2 games because of tendinitis in his knees, sit 1, play 2, then all the sudden this whole daughter angle comes up again then pretty soon he's not sure he can come back and play. The dude's knees are fucking dust! Not to mention, they never clarified what was exactly ailing his little girl. Maybe she had a case of PRACTICE!

It's terrible how these teams make you practice all the time. Plus, they make you play games or practice on holidays like Thanksgiving! They don't pay these guys enough to expect that.

He's doing a great job of ending his career on a very low note.

Unbelievable skills. Mad crossover. IMHO his skills were never fully harnessed. 99% of that is his own fault, but I still think he could've been on the greatest to ever play the game. Instead he's a knucklehead that will quickly be forgotten. I always tried to give AI the benefit of the doubt, but then he would always do something unredeemable.

That's a well deserved nickname for sure.

Now word is he is "battling" alcohol and gambling. I hate it when they term boozing up and gambling like that! It isn't a battle. When I get off work, I can turn left at the light and go home, or I can turn right and go to the bar. It's my choice. Not a disease. Sometimes I turn right too often and stay too long. Sometimes I go straight home and hop on my bike. Same with gambling. Not a disease I battle!? Sometime I stop and play Keno for a while, other nights I say "what a waste of money." Once you turn it into a "battle" you're giving out a crutch. IMHO.

By the sounds of it his entourage still treats him like he was playing in 2001 and is fucking draining him. He's banned from casino's in Detroit and in Atlantic City. The free booze washes the gambling losses away. I don't feel sorry for motherfucker's like him. Keepin' it "hood" eventually caught up with him.
