Tyson to fight Holyfield again?

I hope this doesn't happen.

I think it's unlikely that these two kindly old men can hurt each other. I would embrace this, just for the freak show aspect of it.thejuggernaut wrote:I hope not for a couple of reasons.
1. Holyfield needs to retire before he becomes a full blown retard.
2. They already fought twice, with Holyfield winning each time. There's no need for a 3rd fight.

Holyfield did win those fights, but won dirty with those headbutts. I wonder if Tyson will land a couple nice uppercuts to the balls this time around for revenge.
Even more amusing than the possibility of this happening are reports that this would be promoted by none other than Don King. Who Tyson recently called a reptillian motherfucker who would kill his own mother for a dollar.
What's to argue here? Holyfield's intentional headbutts clearly cut Tyson in both fights.thejuggernaut wrote:

I am not arguing that the head butts never took place. Your statement is ridiculous for two reasons:Crazy Levi wrote:What's to argue here? Holyfield's intentional headbutts clearly cut Tyson in both fights.thejuggernaut wrote:

I'm not saying that the reason he won, but I don't see how you could argue that this isn't fact.
Although you will. With about 10 paragraphs.

1. Every boxer in the history of the sport has "fought dirty". Some win, some lose. Holyfield is no exception.
2. Mike Tyson is arguably THE "dirtiest" fighter in the history of the sport. Holyfield merely out-Tysoned Tyson.
The heavyweight division is in worse shape now than ever before. Just look at the nonsense the russian brothers are trying to pull with Haye.Crazy Levi wrote:He did?thejuggernaut wrote:I am not arguing that the head butts never took place. Mike won that battle by a torn off earlobe!
Anyhow, I'm sure any 3rd bout, would be very anticlimatic. They are both finished, but Holyfield will be in better shape and still has a great chin. Tyson will just tire out in 5 or 6 rounds like he did against Mcbride (!!!!) and collapse.
Tyson doesn't have the fury anymore to make this interesting even by freakshow standards. He's not gonna bite anyone.
But on the other hand Tyson could use the money, so go for it. The most revelaing this about this fight would be how succesful it would be - this is no Berbick-Ali. People will pay to see this fight, I'm sure it would do better than any other heavyweight matchup. I'm gonna go to wiki to check it out, but I have to admit I have absolutely no idea who the current heavyweight champion(s) is.
Crazy Levi wrote:one report I read on this says that Tyson might opt to tune up against "lesser opponents" before fighting Holyfield.
This would be disastrous of course - you can't get much lesser than McBride, and if tyson loses to some tomato can in his first fight back it would kill his comeback.
I think you just have to go straight to the Holyfield fight if you want to cash in.
theres no doubt holyfield butted tyson, but tyson butted holy as well and by far the worst and most intentional of headbutt in fight 1 was landed by tyson and it buckled his own legs and cut his eye, he deserved it.Crazy Levi wrote:What's to argue here? It was pretty clear once tyson realized he couldn't bully holyfield around it was over for him and he pretty much shit himself in fear.
And how many times has tyson tried breaking dudes arms? at least thats the way it looked, he did it to botha and holyfield I know but probably more.thejuggernaut wrote: Yep.
Tyson made a career out of:
Hitting on the break.
When clutched, pressing his forearm on his opponents' throats.
Throwing elbows.
Lunging forward on hooks with his head right behind the punch.
Lunging upward head first while "bobbing and weaving"
He ran into a guy that saw his head first lunge and, rather than step back in fear, stepped forward to smash heads.

I remember watching HBO about a week after the first tyson/holy fight and they went round by round with both fighters and costas and they showed tysons headbutt in slo mo about 3-4 times. it was a blatant intentional butt and clear that he did more damage to himself with that than any butt holy landed which makes his bitching about butts pointless. Tyson IMO will always be among the most overrated HW's of all time, sure the dude was a beast and crazy talented at a young age but his biggest victories were against a past his prime holmes and a rusty former light HW in Spinks. Lewis and Holy are the best HW's of their era, but I'd like to have seen what could've been with Ike Ibeabuchi before he lost his mind.
That super 6 thing they have doneBozoMcMetal wrote:This, combined with Hopkins vs RJJ, is really showing how weak boxing has become. 2 mega fights that already happened 10+ years ago...If Mayweather and Pacquiao ever actually fight, there are NO superfights left in boxing. It's really sad to see, a bunch of crooked ass promoters have completely ruined one of the greatest sports in history.
Sorry for the dredging up, but that's repTALLIAN.Crazy Levi wrote:I think it's unlikely that these two kindly old men can hurt each other. I would embrace this, just for the freak show aspect of it.thejuggernaut wrote:I hope not for a couple of reasons.

Also, it's "reptilian," you might want to consult a dictionary if you are gonna go all It Walks on me.
