Holy Christ!

I'm not really worried...as a Skins fans I see next year as a total write-off as the new guys try to build this team.

But Bears fans...is Grossman as awful as I've been led to believe?

Maybe he'll get a second look. The guy was a quarterback on a Super Bowl level team. They really need to give Colt Brennan a chance.

Someone else will - signing Grossman makes me think Colt is out.

I really hope the Skins don't draft a QB - they need to sign linemen.

It's hard to say. Chicago is a QB graveyard so he shouldn't be discounted because he was average at best in Chicago.

Just remember, his one year as a starter in Chicago was better than Cutler's, and Shanahan made Cutler look decent in Denver.

The only question is, is Grossman shot, mentally.

He has the tools, he's just never had the coaching.

Grossman was better in Chicago that he was or will be anyplace else...bad signing...yes, u have a lot to worry about if the Skins are counting on Campbell and Grossman

why you would replace Collins with Grossman is beyond me...Collins was very dependable as a backup

For starters, Collins, while reliable, is as old as Edison. Also, he has no experience in a west coast attack. Old dogs, new tricks....

We really can't make a true assessment of Grossman yet because, as has seemingly always been the case, QBs and Chicago just don't mix.

He did not receive much in the way of coaching in Chicago. However, he spent last year in Texas learning from Shanahan's protege (and former OC/QB coach) so he knows the system. He wasn't going to unseat Schaub, but I would have to think between Kubiak and Kyle Shanahan (oc at Texas under Kubiak, now Washington's OC) they must have seen something to convince Mike Shanahan to take a chance.

As much shit as I give Grossman, on account of him being a Florida guy, the reality is we shouldn't base a QB's lack of performance based on time spent with the Bears.

Is he the worst QB, statistically speaking at least, to ever make it to a Superbowl?

Namath was worse.

Elway.

Bradshaw.

Those are a few.

Trent Dilfer is still terrible, albeit babbling on ESPN. Dilfer getting a ring certainly did dilute the image of SB winning QB. Toothlessburger has done the same thing as well.

Joe Gibbs, the greatest coach in NFL history, won rings with Doug Williams, Joe Theisman, and Mark Rypien.

You shouldn't need a HOF quarterback to win the trophy.

But....but......but......every coach would rather a gunslinger who throws picks at the worst times and sets records as opposed to a game manager.

This is true. Dilfer should have been forced to toss the salad of everyone on that Ravens defense. He was truly a God-awful QB.

Williams was so much better a qb than Dilfer. That dude was a super puss in Tampa. Williams was a stud.

Williams took Tampa Bay from worst team in the league to one game away from the Super Bowl three years after their first game. Many people forget about that.

true, but if you think about it, there are tons of backup linebackers and 3rd string running backs who have super bowl rings and Dan Marino doesn't as well.

my point....i don't know, but i'm sure Dan Marino cries himself to sleep everynight regardless.

McNabb and Grossman, and a platoon consisting of three washed up RB's. Considering this is the team that offered Andre The Giant a contract, I'm not surprised in the least.
