Why the fuck does this guy get so much shit from MLB fans? ESPN and other boards are always saying he's not even a top 10 1b. WTF? I know the dude strikes out a ton(so did reggie jackson and mike schmidt) and he'll never be a .300 hitter but jesus that dude can produce like a mother fucker and comes through in the clutch. Don't get me wrong I'd take Pujols for sure over Howard but as far 1b go that's about it. Miguel Cabrera is great but he might eat himself into andruw jones territory while howard has slimmed down, Texiera is great But I'd still take Ryan there too. Adrian Gonzalez is tempting i'd love to see what he could do out side of Petco, whereas Ryan howard home/road splits are pretty much identical so i don't think you can sat he's a product of CBP, Dude can blast out of any park.

He's definitely top 10...but not top 2 or 3

I'd take Texeira any day over him

I get the suspicion though...to me he looks like another David Ortiz...starts out a monster for a couple years, and then an Adam Dunn after that

I don't know anybody that would claim Howard isn't a top 10 first baseman.

He's a shitty defender and will probably wind up a DH when he's done in Philly.

But if you're talking strictly offense, the top 5 has gotta be Pujols, Fielder, Howard, Teixeira, and Gonzalez, with Dunn, Youkilis, and Morneau closely following.

Texiera and Howard is a hard choice for since i'm a philly fan and partial to Howard, but Tex is a gold glove 1B, Would hit 30+ easy at CPB and is obviously the better hitter. Forgot all about Fielder and Morneu,

BTW jake if you really want to trade me heyward for rasmus or delmon young, i might even throw in ziegler But i'm thinking young is finally gonna break out So i'll still ponder on it for awhile.

Hahaha Delmon Young SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.

Rasmus is more likely but I think I'm gonna keep Heyward, although I could deal Ortiz (yeah right) or Hafner, who I think is due for a nice turn around this year (though I said that last year too).

I was just fucking with you cuz I knew you were the smartest dude who picked him up, I hate the braves and I'm kinda tired of the heyward hype but the kid looks like the real deal.

As for young fuck it, i'm gonna gamble on him and use him from time to time, how could a dude that promising do so little?, Fuck burrell was hyped pretty bad but he at least put up the power numbers expected.

I dunno, Young just sucks. Aside from his first half year in Tampa he's been pretty brutal. But if you think about they had this glutton of outfielders in the high minors, Young's awful, Dukes has been given up on twice, Ruggiano is a bit of a scrub.

Next is Desmond Jennings who apparently is the real deal.

It's just to hard to let go of Young since he is the former first rounder and all, but considering the Rays got Garza AND Bartlett for him, I'd say he was useful to them in some capacity...

IMO, Tex and pujols are better than howard on defense. Then you add youk to that mix because he is very, very good on D.
So right there you can put howard in the 4 slot.
