Redskins. We have about 3 picks in the entire draft.thejuggernaut wrote:Go.
Needs - #1 offense line. Left Tackle.
All other needs are a distant 10th place.
Possibilities - they might trade a couple people for draft picks. LB rocky Macintosh is pissed off about something. Albert Haynesworth is a fat piece of shit. Deposed QB Campbell needs to go but nobody wants him.
Not sure what will happen but I think at least one of these guys will be traded for some sort of draft compensation.

I don't know why that cracks me up. Perhaps because he can be one of the best ever, but chooses to be one. LOLCrazy Levi wrote:Redskins. We have about 3 picks in the entire draft.thejuggernaut wrote:Go.

I would not be at all surprised if they:
1. Draft Okung (not a stretch prediction by any means)
2. Bring Antonio Pierce back.
They definitely need a LOT of help and the Snyder approach of trading away your picks has left them in a terrible spot.
Perhaps they can get lucky and move some of those guys for decent picks, but I am not sure they can - everyone knows this draft is deep, and second rounders this year would be first rounders in lots of other years.
They also need to address WR. Perhaps they can scoop Carlton Mitchell or maybe Mardy Gilyard falls to round 4.

Did you hear about the trade they made yesterday? Swapped 5th round picks with the Rams (down about 20 spots) and 7th round (up about 4 spots) and got DT Adam Carieker, a former 1st round pick. It actually could be a very good trade for the Skins, very big upside potential with low risk.thejuggernaut wrote:I don't know why that cracks me up. I disagree with you on WR - everyone says they are in bad shape, but I really like what I saw at the end of last year. Recent draft picks Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas started to look very good, and the Skins could potentialy have the best two TE combo in the league with Fred Davis and Cooley. They still have Moss. Now that these guys actually have a top QB throwing to them, it could be a breakout year for the team's recieving corps.
Also...possible freak show brewing...Terell oWens is BEGGING the Skins to sign him, and McNabb wants it to happen.

OK, but that was what, 5 years ago? And TO bitched constantly until he was out of town. Plus this Redskins team doesn't have the talent that Eagles team did. Bad idea. Which means Snyder will probably pull the trigger.

Yeah, the Carricker deal might end up being a complete steal.Crazy Levi wrote:thejuggernaut wrote:Did you hear about the trade they made yesterday? Regarding the WRs, Thomas does have freak potential, no doubt. What concerns me though is Malcolm Kelly might just end up being another "Oklahoma Receiver" and Moss, as great as he is, seemed to somewhat hit the wall last year.
Not a total wall hitting, but, he looked like he lost some of his explosiveness last year and he's at the age where it could vanish overnight. He sort of resembled TO in Dallas in 2008 - the production looked like usual, but there was just something missing and by the end of the year, he looked like he'd lost it.
However, I do agree on the McNabb thing, and perhaps Moss is merely suffering from Mossitis - Randy Moss looked like he'd lost it in Oakland when he was playing on a shitty team, for a shitty coach and a shitty QB. Then he went to play for a good coach and a real QB then all of a sudden the Randy Moss from 1998 was back, if only for one year. So perhaps Santana Moss just finally got fed up with busting his ass for inferior QB play and coaching.
I just think they need a younger guy who can get deep, for no other reason than to open the field a little bit.
As for McNabb wanting TO - I did chuckle when I read that.

While his MMQB is always a great read, his mocks are always......well, they are enjoyable reading at least.

sick and tired of ESPN evaluating these players.
this tired act has gone on for months now.
ESPN is so desperate for the draft to start, the channel aired a mock
draft this morning.
passing it off as the legit picks is a disgrace to sports journalism.

It's true. The sports press on the days leading up to the draft are worse than your average online forum. THey make stories out of every ridiculous rumor they can invent, and none of it happens. I know they have to kill time before the draft but the shit I've heard this week are ridiculous.Machado wrote:ESPN is lazy. plain and simple. they are lazy. instead of chasing down a legit story, they "milk" the 2010 NFL draft for monthsthejuggernaut wrote:Because sports journalism had integrity to tarnish ?Machado wrote:sick and tired of ESPN evaluating these players.

It's sports journalism. Most of them got into the biz because they were lazy to begin with.

fuck those lazy bastards and the bottom line-$$$
if they want to fill the air with meaningless reporting, then so be it.
what they should refrain from doing is complaining when
the ratings are low.
why is the draft beginning Thurs night?
who can answer the question truthfully?

Re: NFL draft, your favorite team (s)
C'mon Tim, you can do better than that.
What a baby. Did he just now learn the draft was Thurs?
Do they not teach career planning at the UFL?
Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has decided not to attend the NFL draft in New York City and instead will watch it at his home in Jacksonville, Fla., a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
According to the source, Tebow believes it would be too hard to get his whole family and his friends to New York in time for the draft's first round on Thursday night.
It is possible the former Heisman Trophy winner won't be taken Thursday, because the second round doesn't start until Friday.
Tebow helped Florida win two national championships in the Gators' run-heavy system, but his skills may not translate to some NFL teams' passing-centric offenses.
Tebow has worked on his mechanics before the draft and unveiled his new look at Florida's pro day last month. The biggest difference is that he has shortened his throwing motion to get rid of the ball quicker.

Outside of the top 5, maybe the top ten, there's absolutely no reason for a kid to attend the draft, except maybe for his family's benefit and if the family doesn't want to go, why bother ?
Exactly why is he a baby ?

We can use upgrades just about everywhere, so I don't think Holmgren can have a bad draft LOL. Well, he could draft badly, but would really damage the team anymore than Dandy Randy Lerner. We'll see......................

Re: NFL draft, your favorite team (s)
I have no idea what New England is going to do. They need a running back and a pass rusher, and they could get a good ones at #22. Some of the mock drafts have them taking a TE but I don't think TE is their most pressing need, and they hardly ever throw to one anyway. I'd like them to take an OLB, one of these guys - Graham, Kindle or Hughes - will be available.
They also have 3 2nd round picks. I hear they may try to trade back. They need to go for quality this time around because they need DE, LB, RB, TE, CB, & WR and if they play their cards right they can fill 4 of those holes with quality guys who should have immediate impact in 2010. Stocking up on 4th & 5th rounders hasn't worked recently.
I would like them to use a 2nd round pick on a straight ahead hard running RB. Gerhart should be there at either 44 or 47 and he would be a perfect compliment to Faulk and Happy Feet(Maroney).

ESPN reported that Pittsburgh called the Browns and told them that Rapistberger is available for the #7 pick. I don't think they'll do it but that would certainly shake things up.

Re: NFL draft, your favorite team (s)
Life long Detroit Lions fan here.
They've made some positive moves this off season (KVB, Burleson, trades, etc), but damn...they've still got some holes.
First off:
SUH!!! If he isn't holding up a Lions jersey after tomorrow night, I think my heads going to explode.
After that, they've got to find a RB that can actually perform the "running" part of that description. The Lions O line gets some shit, but the holes for a RB were there game in and game out. Their starter, Kevin Smith, was a bum...if some 3rd string DB that weighed a 150lbs yelled, "boo!" Kevin Smith was flat on his back. They need someone who can at least get to the outside as well.
If they add:
SUH (first round)
J.Best (second round)
A starting CB (third)
I'll be a happy fan. Add a couple players like that to the moves they've already made and maybe, just maybe, they can at least start to compete like an NFL team.

St. Louis Rams,
Where to begin, they need help pretty much everywhere. QB, WR, OT, CB, DT. I would love if they picked Suh. Long and Suh would be one hell of a combination on the front lines. I would hate to be a QB or RB and face those two. Plus they gave up over 400 pts on defense last year. I bet they choose Sam Bradford as the #1 pick overall. With Bulger getting cut and A J Feeley as your main guy it's a no brainer hear. He has the potential to be one of the elite QBs. A natural leader with a great arm. A QB is there biggest need right now. Plus A big name QB can help sell seats.
I would love to see them draft a WR who could catch a ball that's thrown to him at the numbers and hold on to it. A very serious problem I saw happen too many times last year. I don't see them drafting a WR till the third round either Taylor Price or David Reed. There #2 pick will be either Lamarr Houson DT or Sean Weatherspoon LB. There has been a lot of chat around the local radio for Javier Arenas CB being picked in the fourth round.

passing it off as the legit picks is a disgrace to sports journalism.
But doing the draft in prime time is a dickish move considering the NBA and NHL have playoff games going on.

Chargers: I'd like them to get Toby Gerhart at some point.
Big, strong runner to work with Sproles back up the passing game.
Beyond that, I don't really care. They'll pick who they'll pick and we'll know come January whether any of them helped.

While, as a Lions fan, I want to see him in the D, if the Rams fuck themselves out of a franchise QB and take Suh, that's not a bad thing either. If Bradford's sitting there at #2, you can bet the Lions' phone will be ringing off the hook and they can pick up some extra high draft choices via a trade down.Mutley Brew wrote:St. Louis Rams,

Either way, it's win/win for the Lions.
