Brown should go. Gibson should be loaned for a year to see if he's any good if he plays regularily. O'Shea should stay. Obertan and Bebe should be loaned also to see if they're worth anything.

Ashley Young looks to join, no need for a winger though. Unfortunatly looks like Sneijder won't come.

Not too keen on Young. Hoping for Nasri and Modric. Sneijder would be great but it won't happen.

Now Citeh is offering big money for Modric. Blackburn got greedy and Phil Jones deal may fall through. At least Bebe is leaving.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Seems like Blackburns owners got all retarded and forgot what release clauses in contracts are all about. They apparently put a 16 mil release clause in his recent contract renewal, and then when United triggered it they got all bitchy. A few sources say the deal will go through in the next few days, as Venky's don't have a leg to stand on.
I don't mind the Young signing, more cover on the wings, but I also think a decent center mid specialist is required. I'd prefer 2, a midfield general type and a creative type. But we might have to settle for one if we sign Young as well. Of course, Fergie might sell someone like Nani or Berbatov and make more room. I'd be surprised though, might be too many squad changes.

Funny that people like Nani and Berbatov who were important this season, have turned into bit part players. I think they should try Berbatov at center midfield at some easier games, he's creative and can hold the ball. There might another transfer summer without any big names, but who could have guessed about Hernadez either.

Nani has already mentioned the interest in playing for Madrid. He's aware that with Valencia and maybe Young he has competition.pieceofme wrote:Hmm I don't think so.Hellsinkey wrote:Funny that people like Nani and Berbatov who were important this season, have turned into bit part players. Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Nani played a lot in the first half of the season, especially once Valencia got injured. He tailed off after Carragher clogged him at Anfield. Young can play centrally as well as wide, and Fergie doesn't even have a first 11 anyways. He's always rotating and it will continue with the new signings.
It wouldn't bother me if Berbatov left. Rooney, Chica, Welbeck and Owen with Nani, Valencia and Young who could join them in a 433 should be plenty.

They should let Welbeck and Macheda, also Tom Cleverley show what they can do this season.
Teams should do a media block every transfer window, as 80% of the news is frustrating bullshit. They should just mention at the end: we got these, so shut up.

Surprise, surprise the bribery charges are dropped. He is pure scum. I am thrilled that CONCACAF is no longer his private piggy bank.

Don't need a winger. Need an attacking central midfielder.

Young played centrally a lot for the Villa last season. I'm not saying that's why Fergie has signed him, to play centrally, but I think he is versatile as he can use both feet. He could be a good signing if he settles. Sometimes players don't settle for whatever reason. Also if the fee is 16 mil then that's not bad either.Hellsinkey wrote:Yeah, mentioned the same thing.pieceofme wrote:Meh.jellyheadrobertson wrote:

They do still need at least 1 legit central midfielder who can control games. If Gibbo, Brown and O'Shea all leave next week as expected, then there is room in the squad for 2 central midfielders.

I hear River Plate have just got relegated in Argentina for the first time in their history. Seems the fans are going crazy there in Buenos Aires. They have a funny system of relegation in the Argie leagues, I guess they take a combination of the last 3 seasons positions into account when deciding who goes down.

If you think that's weird you have to check out how they do it in Belgium. Seriously, I read an article about that once and I think I'd be able to master their fucking language before understanding the relegation system. It's basically a whole playoff tournament clusterfuck between half the damn league to determine who goes down. I wonder why they even have a season.

Yeah, it does seem kinda fucked up....And I quote from Wiki pedia...SebastianLeeDanzig wrote:If you think that's weird you have to check out how they do it in Belgium. Seasons run from late July to early May, with teams playing 30 matches each in the regular season, and then entering play-offs 1, play-offs 2 or the relegation play-off according to their position in the regular season. Play-offs 1 are contested by the top 6 clubs in the regular season, with each club playing each other twice. Play-offs 2 are contested by teams ranked 7 to 14 in the regular season, divided in two groups of 4 teams playing each other twice. The relegation play-off consists of 5 matches between the 15th and the 16th-placed team in the regular season.
