Looks like Shaq's theme song could be "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" by the Dropkick Murphys.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that Shaquille O'Neal has signed a two year contract with the Boston Celtics.
I can see the T-shirts now..."SHAQ - The Big Shillelagh".

Mike Brown's insistence on keeping Shaq on the floor against the Celtics is the REASON the Cavs lost that series.

This.
He's good for 6 fouls off the bench now. Either way, I hope the Celts curb stomp those fools from South Beach.

If Shaq goes in as a backup and helps cover for Perkins until he is healthy then this is a good signing. Boston was heading towards another championship until Perkins went down then they had nobody to clog up the paint and give fouls. Getting 10-15 minutes and 4-5 fouls to use a night out of Shaq makes Perkins job a lot easier when they face either Howard or LA.
*Note to Doc Rivers: Keep Shaq on the bench when you face Miami or Wade & LeBron will run at will.

This is a good signing. The Celtics were a big body away from the championship last year. Everyone has already anointed the Heat NBA Champs 2011, but I think the Celtics and Lakers might have something to say about that.

Actually, everyone I've seen talking has been inclined to suggest that's more likely for 2012. I agree. Magic/Celtics or Lakers stop them this year.

Shaq has burned so many bridges with former teams that it will be hard to say what jersey goes into the HoF.
In regards to Celtics on their way to winning until Perkins got hurt.
That's bullshit!
If you follow that logic- if Bynum was healthy, or at least 75%, the Lakers would have swept the series.
coulda, woulda, shoulda,,,,,,

McGrady is a has-been bum that is a cancer on whatever team he is on.
Vince Carter is another bum! The only difference b/t the two is that McGrady cant stay healthy.

The Celtics had a 3-2 series lead with Perkins playing. They had a lead in game 7 without Perkins and then couldn't hold on because they had nobody to protect the paint on defense. If they had been knocked out right out of the gate in game 7 then I would say Perkins being out had nothing to do with the loss, but they lost that game because their defense couldn't hold on without a physical presence in the middle, the inability to get rebounds, and no semblance of a post-up game on the other end. Perk would have at least kept LA from getting inside so often, not forced Doc to go to such a short rotation and given some of the other guys some rest, and kept their other big men from getting into foul trouble.

Kobe getting to the line as much as he did didn't help the Celtics.

I still say BULLSHIT!
The series shifted back to Los Angeles.
Game 6 the Lakers DESTROYED them. With or w/o Perkins.
Game 7 the Celtics came out strong but couldnt hold it together. As you know, home court is very important. Perkins is nothing but a role player that is a big body. He cannot change a game. Personally I think the Lakers cameback because of the homecourt & because of the heart of players like Kobe, Derek Fisher, and Pau Gasol. Although Kobe didnt have a good game, but was picked up by other players such as Ron Artest.
Ask yourself- 5 years from now is the basketball community going to be saying- "Celtics would've won if Perkins was playing", or "Lakers won the 2009/10 NBA championship". You tell me.

McGrady is a member of the class that didn't 'get it' regardng what it takes to win in the league. Garnett and kobe are the only players from the me first class of NBA players that ever understood what it takes to truly be a winner. McGrady never played a lick of defense and it's prolly too late now that the light bulb has gone on regarding what it takes to win in this league as his skills have eroded immensely. Another incredible talent that will never realize his potential.
