Seriously, this guy has no interest in playing football, more or less being the starter for the Cardinals. Typical jaded USC fuck-head. Anybody else see the Cards going around 4-12 this season??

He looked awful. Fuck that guy.

Then yelling at everybody on top of that makes him look extra douchey.

The Cardinals are gonna miss Kurt Warner big time...probably more than they'll let on.

Yeah, Warner was a scripture-spewing Jesus crispie that could get on your fucking nerves, but at least he knew how to win. More importantly, he knew how to take command of a football team.

One of these Sundays, I hope some defensive lineman takes Leinert's pretty boy face and rearranges it.

I'll go on record now and say terrible Tim Tebow will have a better overall career than Leinert. I'm guessing Leinert doesn't finish the season as the starter and if he does, he doesn't begin next season as the starter.

Well disregard that whole starter thing....

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... n-arizona/

For the second time in three years, it looks like Ken Whisenhunt is giving up on Matt Leinart as a starting quarterback before the season even starts.

Whisenhunt announced that Derek Anderson will start Arizona's preseason game this week against the Bears. Matt Leinart will come off the bench late in the second quarter and play into the second half.

Whisenhunt stressed the change wasn't necessarily permanent, but it doesn't take a genius to see this is now Anderson's job to lose. The third preseason game is every team's chance for a final "dress rehearsal" for the season.

As ESPN's Mike Sando writes, "Whisenhunt would not demote his starting QB in third week of preseason if he thought that QB had earned the respect of the locker room."

Leinart played only nine snaps last week, and now he's not even starting. (It looks like NFL.com's Mike Lombardi had great information here; there's got to be a big chance Leinart doesn't make it to Week One now.) Whisenhunt is essentially giving up on Leinart, no matter how this move is spun in the short term.

It's at this point we feel like we have to mention a tip sent us earlier today, warning us that Leinart was told Anderson was already the starting quarterback. We didn't feel confident passing it along at the time, but the tipster just earned some major points. So now we can't ignore the second part of the email.

The source claimed that Leinart was told the Cardinals were working on a trade to Seattle, where Leinart and Pete Carroll could try to party like it was 2004. That's certainly just a rumor for now, and sounds a little off the wall.

Then again, the idea of Derek Anderson opening the season as Arizona's starter sounded off the wall just a week ago and now look where we are.

As a long suffering Browns fan, who has endured DA's suckiness for far too long: I feel for you. Losing your job to DA doesn't mean that DA was actually "better," it just means DA "sucked less." Just ask Charlie Frye and Brady Quinn about this. Those two guys managed to beat out DA for starting jobs at various points in their careers.....

The Cards need to make a call to the UFL and talk Jeff Garcia out of signing with Omaha, I think the dude can still bring it.

Cardinals send God to Kurt Warner's house to ask him to return

Desperate Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt dispatched God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit to Kurt Warner's house today in hopes to convince the retired quarterback to return to the NFL. "You want to limit the favors you ask the Man Upstairs," said Whisenhunt. "But this is important. If we have to play Matt Leinart, we are obviously doomed." God said He was happy to talk to Warner. "We talk everyday as it is," said God. "But he helps Me by coming back, too. It's great PR if the Jesus-loving gunslinger comes back and saves the team from that wretched Leinart. And I mean wretched in both his morals and his quarterback play. Especially his quarterback play. Jesus Christ, he's awful." "Yes he is," agreed Jesus Christ.

Looks like he's done in Arizona. Can't say I'm surprised. I do wish my Colts would make a run at him. Going into the season with only Curtis Painter as your backup still scares the hell out of me. Although, if Peyton goes down, the season is lost no matter who takes the snaps.

Sources: Matt Leinart trade discussed

The Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders and New York Giants have had discussions with the Arizona Cardinals about trading for quarterback Matt Leinart, league sources tell ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Leinart and the Cardinals are tiring of each other and as each day passes, many believe a trade of Leinart, who is unhappy that he's not starting, is more and more likely with roster moves coming this weekend, sources said.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt has decided to start Derek Anderson instead of Leinart in Thursday's preseason finale -- the second straight game Whisenhunt has tabbed Anderson as the starter instead of Leinart, who was widely expected to claim the job following Kurt Warner's retirement.

That decision followed a meeting between Leinart and Whisenhunt on Monday afternoon, after the former Heisman Trophy winner told reporters that he had outplayed Anderson in training camp and preseason, and that his problem with his coach "probably goes beyond football."

Whisenhunt called it "a good talk"

"We obviously touched base on where everything was," he said, "which I've always said I wanted. If players have an issue or a problem to come see me. We had communicated before about where we were and obviously we needed to talk a little bit more, but it was a good talk."

Leinart did not make himself available to reporters after the Cardinals worked out on Tuesday for the first time at Arizona State University's indoor practice facility. His meeting with the coach came amid widespread speculation that his days with Arizona could be numbered, that the team was looking to trade him or might even release him.

Anderson, signed as a free agent after being released by Cleveland, has seen far more playing time than Leinart in the preseason. The former Oregon State quarterback has completed 31 of 53 passes (59 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions.

Leinart has completed 83 percent (19 of 23), most of them short-range throws, for 161 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions.

Unless the Cardinals acquire another quarterback, the team would be left with the unlikely prospect of having two rookies -- John Skelton and Max Hall -- back up Anderson.

Yeah, which is why she almost went to jail for assault after she beat up some chick that Jeff was banging on the side, in addition to having two kids with him. I'm sure a Playboy Playmate couldn't find a better money train than a guy who hasn't played a meaningful down of football in half a decade.

You're full of shit ONCE AGAIN, and I don't care who your sources are.

Cardinals to release QB Leinert

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Cardinals have released Matt Leinart, parting ways with the former Heisman Trophy winner who was supposed to be the team's franchise quarterback but couldn't escape the backup role.

The team made the announcement on Saturday, shortly before the Cardinals had to reach their 53-man

Arizona thought it had a steal when Leinart fell to the Cardinals at the No. 10 overall pick in 2006. He started 10 games as a rookie under then-coach Dennis Green then the first five the following season under new coach Ken Whisenhunt. But the big left-hander then went down with a broken collar bone five games into the 2007 season and Kurt Warner took over.

Leinart started one game after that, at Tennessee last season when Warner was injured. This year, he expected to finally get his chance after Warner retired, but was replaced by Cleveland castoff Derek Anderson in the third preseason game. He went public with his frustration on Monday, complaining he had outplayed Anderson and that his problems with Whisenhunt were "probably away from football.'

Leinart threw for 3,893 yards with 14 touchdowns and 20 interceptions with Arizona.

Leinart spent the past two seasons as an understudy to Warner, who led the Cardinals to the Super Bowl in 2008 and another division title last season before retiring.

Unless the Cardinals acquire another quarterback, the team would be left with rookie Max Hall as Anderson's backup. They also have rookie QB John Skelton.

Anderson spent five up-and-down seasons with the Browns, where he lost his starting job to Brady Quinn at the start of last season. He got the job back, lost it, then got it back again when Quinn got hurt.

When the former Oregon State quarterback joined the Cardinals, he said he wanted a fresh start and was excited about a new opportunity with a new team.

Anderson had been claimed off waivers by Cleveland from Baltimore in 2005. He made the Pro Bowl in 2007 when he threw for 3,787 yards and 29 touchdowns, leading the Browns to a 10-6 record.

Leinert signs a one year deal with the Texans. He's a step up from the interception machine they have backing up Schaub now. You think Leinert sucks? Go watch some film on Orlovsky.

He whined and moaned to the press and to the coach when he found out he was going to be 2nd string behind DA. What a dumb ass. Now he is third frigging string and will never see any action. Had he stayed in Arizona, he may well have wound up starting eventually. Unless DA has a miracle season like 2007, it's only a matter of time before the gunslinger implodes. Leinart just threw his whole career away.

I don't think he'll be third string long. Orlovsky is fucking horrible. He'll be second string as soon as he picks up the offense and with Schaub's injury history, he could easily start a few games. Agreed on blowing it with Arizona though. I'm thinking he thought he was gonna end up starting for Seattle.

Reports here in Ohio had the Bengals trying to lure him in. Their back up is Carson Palmer's kid brother and he SUCKS. They wound up getting Dan LeFevour, who IMHO has a lot of upside. Being an OU Bobcat guy, I watched LeFevour rip teams to shreds in the MAC. He could go the way of Roethlisberger, Leftwhich, and Pennington and have a nice NFL career. Or he could go the way of Charlie Fry and Bruce Gradkowski and wind up on a milk carton. Time will tell.

Bruce was a terror w/ Toledo as "The Polish Canon." Watched him play in person a few times. I don't think he's NFL star material though. Other than making Oakland somewhat respectable last season he hasn't done a whole lot.
