He was the worst head coach in the league. Look at all the teams from 0-2 wins and find a team that is playing as badly as Dallas. Now consider that they do have one of the more talented rosters in the league. There wasn't a coach doing less with more than he has.
Jones will throw a boatload of money at Cowher or Gruden, watch them turn things around and then try to take over for them once they become successful.

I agree with your last statement 100%. The new coach will shine that turd up real nice, and Jerry will broom them the second they start having too much influence or control of the team or its players.

Will Gruden &/or Cowher coach for Jones??? I'm not so sure the head coach is the real problem in Dallas.

Jones is definitely the problem in Dallas. His egos runs the good coaches out of town and then the soft coaches that aren't bothered by his ego aren't strong enough to handle the players.
I heard that he was going to offer Cowher $40M for 5 years. With the talent that is already there and Jones' deep pockets that money is too good to pass up, knowing that he'll stay out of the way for the first 3-4 years as the new guy turns things around. Even if the coach has to walk on the 5th year they'll get the credit and then can probably name their front office job somewhere with a more low-key owner.

Jones is not the only problem. The collection of players that make up this team does not work/play as a team.
There are many players that need to go so the team can succeed in 2011.
Firing Wade was the first move in the rebuilding process. For whatever reason, the players no longer responded to Wade and Wade's ability to coach was a non-factor.
Garrett has a chance to lose the interim tag with success, but as long as the same group of players take the field, he won't have a chance. At the most Dallas will win 2 games the rest of the way.
Jerry needs to find a coach that is strong on discipline and Jerry needs to release any player that has been unable to motivate himself week after week.

Where is all this talent the media and cowboy fans talk about?
Horrible safeties, and newman is their only decent corner.
Lbs are overratted and brooking is Over the hill. ware still good, but not alone.
Dline is not very good. ratliff ain't playing like last year.
awful o-line with the exception of Gurode at center.
A good qb who's hurt and has too many tos.
okay wrs, but very overrated, though Dez bryant looks to be the real deal.
i just don't see the "talent".

Some of the players do have a lot of talent, but Wade was unable to unlock the talent and have the players perform at a high level. Some of the so called talented players are very overrated.

Let's be honest, even Newman is average at best. If I hear another "expert" declare Newman as a shut down corner, I will go postal. None of the db's are any good and all of them have poor tackling technique. Even last year's pro bowler Jenkins has taken a step or two backwards this season.

I agree Brooking should not be returning next year. Ware and Spencer have plenty of room for improvement.
Dline is not very good. ratliff ain't playing like last year.
Ratliff is getting double-teamed and the poor linebackers are not helping him.
awful o-line with the exception of Gurode at center.
the o-line is below average. does not help that Romo is out and Kitna is back there taking the snaps. he's a back-up for a reason and won't do much to help the team win.
A good qb who's hurt and has too many tos.
Romo is hurt.even before he was injured, the team was falling apart.
okay wrs, but very overrated, though Dez bryant looks to be the real deal.
the team has 2 great WR's(bryant and Miles). again, without Romo, Miles won't get as many balls thrown to him.
i just don't see the "talent".

It's going to take more tha half a good year to call Miles austin "great"
And stop trying to convince somebody that o-line ain't mrash.

Don't forget the running backs.
This team simply doesn't have reliable RBs

No sabes nada!
Garrett is the O-Cordinator and to date he has failed at using the running backs correctly.
Gone is the 3-headed monster. Going with the 2 backs is fine, but the number of times Dallas was passing prior to Romo's injury was a mistake.
Unless Garrett and the Cowboys run the table, I can not imagine Garrett will be hired as a member of the coaching staff next season.

No se nada pero intento
Look, Marion Barber used to be the guy to get those difficult two-three yards to get into end zone. How many times the Cowboys have failed in that department?
Felix Jones used to find the holes and ran like a beast. But he got fat and hardly changes his direction when the O-line can't open up a space.
And we haven't see much of Tashard Choice. That one fumble mistake seems to have costed him the season and who knows if we will see him again.
Don't take me wrong. I'm a Cowboys fan since the mid-70's, but gotta call it like it is.

did you read what i typed? garrett and his offensive game plans have been all about the pass, ignoring the running game.
last year the 3 headed monster seemed to work.
this year going with barber and jones has not worked for many reasons
#1-the o-line has not opened holes
#2-garrett basically abandoned the running game and/or is not smart enough to utilize the talented running backs he has
the final 8 games won't be much fun to watch as a fan.
the team we have now won't be the team that takes the field next season.
a lot of coaches still need to be fired
a lot of players on this current team need to be released for the sake of the team and the future.

I wonder if Skip Bayless would still Trade Peterson for all three Cowboy backs?

It's going to take more than just switching a couple of coaches around to get that bunch of underachieving asshats to play to their potential.
