How Good is Blake Griffin of the Clippers NBA

Post by yeahbuddy »

So what do you think?
Is this guy the next coming of God, or just a very good player on a shitty team.
I think as long as he stays healthy the sky is the limit for this cat.
Although it is a long season, and he is on the Clippers. Those two elements of the NBA might hurt him.

Best dunker since Shawn Kemp. He also made Baron Davis care about balling again. (See his past week) If Sterling spends the money and gets a couple of role players to go with Blake Superior, Eric Gordon, Kaman and Boom Dizzle, they could be scary.

Kaman is done as a Clipper. Once (if ever) he gets healthy, he is gone. And Baron Davis should play it smart by riding Blake's coattails as long and far as he can. If he doesnt, he will be gone as well. Davis always wants to be the man on whatever team he is on. This is Blake Griffin's team now, and Baron can get on board or seek being the man elsewhere. I'm sure the Clippers would easily accomadate him.

You know its bad being Baron Davis when Donald Sterling is heckling him to his face courtside. Kaman is gone because of Deandre Jordan stepping up into that role in the post.

That would be a good trade, Nash for Davis. Unfortunately Phoenix wouldnt take the contract of Davis on.
They are trying to shed salary just as much, if not more, than everybody else. Thats why they let Amara walk. Traded J Richardson and Turkelo.
If Nash were to come to Clipperland, that would be sick.
Best thing for Griffin to do is to play out his contract with the Clippers & go across the hallway and sign as a free agent with Lakers.
Could you imagine Blake G & Andrew Bynum on the same team? Now that would be crazy.

Agreed. They were thisclose on going to the Western Conference Finals in 06 and a combination of mis-management and injury fucked that team.

Can Blake Griffin shoot? I don't think I've ever seen him take a jump shot. He can dunk like a fuckin' banshee though.

If you watch him consistently, you can see that he's really not that good of a basketball player yet. God help other teams when he becomes better because his skills are MAD.

Yeah, his ceiling is VERY high. I mean, Jordan wasn't the best shooter for a long time, and he busted his ass and was lights out later on. I just haven't watched enough of him. I haven't watched a lot of NBA in a while, so I'm out of the loop. BG and Durant have me wanting to buy the NBA directv package...and NO ONE has made me want to do that in a long ass time.

Everyone wants to romanticize the 80s/Jordan 90s as being the best modern era of pro ball, but I can't remember this many 'very good' players all in the league at the same time. The 80s had their superstars, but this era has way more talent. It took 20 years, but the Dream Team globalized the entire game. Is it too late to undo the rep the league earned with the thuggery that finally blew up with Artest/Stephen Jackson? I hope not.

At the very least, he'll be a perennial all-star. Very solid game already, just needs to improve his shooting from the free throw line...

When he develops a 15 foot jumper he'll be a cross of Kemp and Malone. He scares me.

Malone could shoot consistent free throws.

The entire Clipper team sucks total ass at the line. Leading the Clippers n FT % would be so fucking pathetically easy, I'd start shooting them with my eyes shut.

Griffin is young and good, but when ANYONE (read: EVERYONE) who is a PRO can't shoot fucking free throws worth a shot % the majority of the time, nothing else they ever do on the court is worth a fucking shit... if I could lead their entire fucking professional basketball team thruout the season from the charity stripe.

Fuck you and start practicing your free throws, you fucking clowns.

I think the reason we have so many good players now, is they all grew up being influenced by Jordan. It's kinda like guitar players... When Eddie Van Halen came on the scene, there was no one else like him. Today you can go on Youtube and find dozens of guys that can play his stuff note-for-note. It's not exactly the same with basketball, but you get the idea.
