I am a fan, but I have seen two practices and this guy cannot throw the ball for shit. Even Brady Quinn is looking like he will be 2nd string. The lockout definitely hurt this guy.

Tebow is the guy that should have been traded to the Dolphins.

I was lmao when they traded up to get him. I knew then how much Josh McDaniel knows. They should've picked him in the 4th round, no higher.

I did not watch the game, but I have my DVR set to record off NFL Network tonight.
Saw some highlights and could not believe Tebow's post-game comments,
"the game did not seem sped up to me at all".

don't translate well in the NFL.

I've never claimed Tebow was an NFL QB. I think he's gonna flop, hard. He's gonna make Ryan Leif look like Tom Brady by comparison, but I also wasn't the one bragging about my team's defense smacking him around before the fact. Don't even go with that "it was second string" crap. You and everybody else knew he'd be going against the twos when you made your boast. The fact remains that the Cowboys D wasn't exactly awesome against the worst QB the NFL has seen in a long, long time.

If the choice is Tebow or Quinn then you have to go with Quinn. Quinn was trained in an NFL style offense in college, has good mechanics, can make the reads, and is reasonably accurate. Plus he does have some experience. He's not great, but he is a serviceable backup QB.

Right now Tebow is a mess and needs a lot of work. What he really needs is something like NFL Europe used to be so he could go and spend a few years developing. He does have a lot of the intangibles such as leadership skills and a good work ethic, but none of that helps when he throws a ball that is 3 or 4 feet off target.

It's all moot anyway. Fox would be crazy to start anyone but Orton. Orton will never make anyone forget Elway, or even Plummer, but at least he will manage a game and give his team a reasonable chance to win. There is no way that they don't start the season 1. Orton - 2. Quinn - 3. Tebow.

I don't think an NFL Europe or any other developmental type league would do much good for that guy. He is what he is: a hugely successful college QB that doesn't posess the physical tools to make it in the NFL. He's a tremendously charismatic guy with some impressive leadership ability. He's probably got a hell of a future in politics or something of that ilk, but he'll never be a successful NFL QB IMO. Denver fucked up with that pick, and now tbey're trying to save face with this ridiculous QB controversy, but as far as I can tell, the only valid reason to give him the ball is so Denver can compete with Cinci in the Luck sweepstakes.

I'm still pissed the Broncos traded up to get him.

Though some people like Merril Hoge seem to be getting on my "Cut Tebow" bandwagon!

hate for Tebow is fine, he's the future of the Broncos. Denver got John Elway part II. Will he be an alltime great no, but he will make the games fun to watch.

Quinn can be a game manager style QB. He might not be a deep threat but he can be serviceable. Pennington had no arm either and he was able to win because he did everything else well. Quinn can be similar as a backup and a team could win 2 or 3 games with him if the starter went down.

The same cannot be said of Tebow at this point. Tebow has yet to prove he can play in a pro-style offense or read NFL defenses. And he is not even accurate on short routes, let alone deep ones. it's different throwing to top college receivers against lesser opponents than it is trying to go against pro D-backs. Every single one of them is better than all but a few of the ones Tebow saw in college. If he is as inaccurate as his tendencies have shown he is going to throw 2 or 3 INTs a game. Right now if the choice is Quinn or Tebow, they have to go with Quinn.

I don't get that about Quinn...the guy is ripped up yet he has a weak arm. Must be all about technique I guess.

Tebow will be fine when he gets some games under his belt imo.
