Does anybody else have a problem watching MNF?
I'm not a big football fan to begin with, but always
enjoyed MNF.
But its tough watching it since it moved to ESPN.
I cant stand the announcers. The two white guys sound
exactly the same, and its like having a double dose of the
same guy. And whats with playing music anytime they
introduce the players or a stat or anytime other than during
game play?

agreed, i cant watch MNF the same way anymore...i just tune in in small doses
i dont mind the analysts, the guy i hate is Tirico
"when YOU come back" - fuck u u dumb nigger for thinking ur "original"...what a fuckin fag
plus I just hate the whole ESPN thing...a symbol of business and commercialism, whereas ABC was a symbol of state TV and uniting a country and giving people something for free...MNF lost its sacredness when it went to ESPN
fuck ESPN

ESPN is good at reporting on sports and complete shit analysis-wise.
They really don't have very good analysts and they feel the need to have 4 fucking people covering a game 3 in the booth (2, or even better, 1 would be fine) and 1 on the field. And they never ever shut the fuck up. They feel it necessary to always be yapping on about meaningless bullshit.
Vin Scully could teach these people something.

Gotta love Vin. Did you read that the Dodgers had their fans rate their announcers? You dont do that to Vin.
You are right about ESPN. They always have to have something going on, announcers (booth or field) talking, music playing. Its way too busy! Sometimes a picture tells the story.

MNF died the day it went to cable. It lost its event status and the announcers went to hell. I'd rather listen to Westwood One's coverage on the AM.

right...Westwood One has that old school feel...in ur truck on the interstate in the middle of nowhere, and u pick up a fucking NFL football game
by the way, the dude on the Broncos game right now is awesome...Brad Nesslar...Ive heard him on the radio before...old school voice and very simple...lets the game come to him and doesnt shove mindless shit down people's throats....and Trent Dilfer is a good boy and doesnt override him...sits back and chips in a few words every now and then
just goes to show you, it dont matter what fuckin channel it's on, it's all about the announcers...
I wasnt looking forward to this game but Im actually enjoying watching it because of the announcer...reminds me of the NFL Network announcers

Janikowski's 63 yd FG at the end of the 1st half was worth the price of admission, alone.
He's lucky it wasn't a 64 yd attempt, though.

That kick was a frickin' BOMB!
Speaking about the announcers, I would take fucking Bert and Ernie over the combo of Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic commentating games last season. Man was that bad.

Where are Brent Musburger and Dick Stockton when you need them?
Those 2 are better then the "goons" ESPN has in the booth

In a sea of awful announcers for NFL games, I put Don Criqui as the worst.

Machado, have you had the chance to check the spanish transmission of MNF in ESPN?
Raul Allegre (former Giants kicker) and Alvaro Martin are very good IMO.

I actually like the MNF crew. THey could do without one of the guys...I'd probably say Gruden.
But it's not a bad crew.
I was sick of Micheals and Madden in a big way.

Gruden or the other hack has to go. Madden was/is becoming a blubbering moron, regardless of if he knew the sport or not. I think he knew that, and retired when he did.
I only watch football until the NBA starts up again. I think there will be a season.

Honestly, I think the last truly great MNF lineup was Michaels, Dierfdorf, and Gifford. After that they started a new novelty every year until they landed Madden who had long since jumped the shark.

I agree. They don't make or break the thing for me, but I don't get a this "They ruined it for me" nonsense. I care about the matchups a whole lot more than I do who's calling the game. The guys there now do a decent enough job IMO. That said, some of the scheduled teams this year are looking pretty bad.

Absolutely. I've NEVER said "oh I ain't gonna watch the game cause it's CBS' C team."
I don't think it makes much difference who announces as far as ratings. ABC tried novelty after novelty (remember they almost brought in Rush Limbaugh) and ratings didn't go up.
The best rated MNF game in history had OJ Simpson and Joe Namath calling it LOL.

True that, but a craptacular announcing crew can very easily cause me to either spin some music or find another game on radio while I am watching one on television. As a Browns lifer, I have become all to familiar with CBS's 4th and 5th announcing teams...

I'm rarely bothered by the announcers. I get annoyed sometimes when the national crew spends the whole game sucking my team's opponent's dick (Texans fan, Peyton twice a year for example) in which case I just turn on the radio and listen to the local guys, but otherwise, I couldn't care less really.

Vin Scully could teach these people something.
But in all fairness, Vin could teach anybody something about announcing a game. He is absolutely perfect for baseball and came from an era when some asshole yelling into his mic. "An A-Bomb for A-Rod" would've lasted about as long as it took that idiot to belt out that look at me bullshit.

Yeah, no need for both Gruden and Jaworski. With the two of them together they feel the need to overdo it.
Madden in his prime, that is when he first started commentating, was very good. He was one of the first commentators to really break down the plays. He lost it over the years and turned into a caricature of himself, but when he wasn't doing his schtick he was very insightful.
You know what's even worse - Herm Edwards trying to analyze games on Monday & Tuesday mornings. The guy was clueless as a coach, and yet tries to break down a game and goes so far to say how he would try to do things if it were him. He's a joke.

Ehh, not sure about Edwards being a horrible coach. he wasn't a great game coach, but check out how many times his teams made the playoffs and then look at the players he did it with. His problem was definitely in game strategy though.

I dont understand when ex coaches, players, or gms that were losers are hired to provide commentary. I'm a big NBA fan, and it kills me to see somebody like Kevin McHale is on the TNT broadcasts. The guy may have been a decent player (thanks to Larry Bird), but as a gm, the guy was clueless. And now we have to hear his point of view on games? F that!

Ugh, Sterling sucks. I'm a Yankee fan and I hate Kay as well. Huge homer.
Now that I think about it, most announcers are bad.
