I would take him over MJ. The man created shots like McDonald's creates calories. Greatest PG ever.

The guy does not get enough credit at all, he built Karl Malone hands down and together the pick and roll was unstoppable. He may have looked like a preacher's son, but the dude was cold as ice!

If he wasn't saddled with Greg Ostertag in the late 90's, he would have had two rings.

If MJ hadn't broke both of Byron Russell's ankles in game 6 of the '98 Finals,he might've had one for sure.

Push-off, dude. It was a push-off.

He played the game dirty. Like it should be played. His hall of fame acceptance speech made Jordan look like a fucking clown. Jordan used the word me about a thousand times. Stockton gave everyone in his life all the credit for his success. That's aces in my book.

And its true MJ had six rings and he was indeed a legend, he also had excellent team-mates for both runs and P-Jax.
Stockton had Malone, a washed up Horacek and one of the worst centers ever in Gregory Donovan Ostertag.

I can't believe someone who would take the time to find a picture of MJ would then go on to call him a point guard!!! LMAO. Although we all know in Phil's triangle offense, even Rodman was given times to bring the ball up the court. But yes, MJ was a
shooting guard. B.J. Armstrong was the PG for Jordan's first three rings. Ron Harper the second trilogy.

P.S. for my money
Mark Price > John Stockton
Although I used to make it a point to go to Richfield (RIP) every year when the Jazz came to play the Cavs. Talk about a battle royal of great PG's!!!
And before you laugh me out of here, remember, the only thing that kept the early 90's Cavs out of the finals was a guy named MJ!! The Cavs were STACKED back then.

Um, the OP say that they would take Stockton over MJ. And Redman77 never called him a point guard.

MJ never had bums on his team like Stockton and Malone did. You could also make the argument for the Clyde era Blazers.

Shame on me. It appeared as if that's what he was implying, but clearly he's not. I humbly apologize.

You guys are all stupid. Stockton was a center. I used to love watching him throw the ball to Dr. J when they played together for the Cowboys.
Don't make me have to school anyone again. My basketball knowledge is unmatched.

Mike had Pippen and a bunch of average players who overachieved because of Mike...
MJ beat him 2 years in a row, tough shit

Longley and Kukoc were probably the guiltiest of overachieving. Rodman's a hall of famer, but your point is taken. However, it must be stated that the same thing could be said about the Kobe/Shaq Lakers. The real star here is Phil Jackson. He found players good at one thing, and whatever that one thing was it became their role. So both the Bulls and Lakers had their two stars and a team full of players who knew their role and performed it well.

Mark Price was a good PG, but he wasn't John Stockton. Longevity speaks volumes my man.

That's like saying Joe Theisman was a shitty QB because his leg snapped in two. Price battled injuries throughout his career. But in his prime he was fantastic.

I would take Steve Kerr and Rodman over Ostertag and Horacek any day.

Tell me where I said he was a PG? RB said (s)he'd take Stockton over MJ. The best PG ever is Magic.
