Saints CHEATED, Super Bowl Victory TAINTED
Today's news is sickening on several fronts. The Saints' actions blatantly violated league rules and are a slap in the face to all the players who've fought to improve player safety in recent years. More importantly, this pathetic, dirty team won a Super Bowl using these tactics. It's a prime reason why they even got to the Super Bowl in the first place. Their brutal, and often illegal, hits on Brett Favre in the 2009 AFC Championship game had a big impact on the outcome of that game. They even knocked Favre out with a serious injury after one of the hits, which the league later admitted was late and should have been called but was not. Maybe the fact that Saints player Jonathan Vilma offered $10,000 to any Saints player to knock Favre out, had something to do with the Saints' despicable play during that game.
Bottom line, the Saints cheated. They benefitted greatly from this cheating and you could argue they would not have won their Super Bowl title without it. If fairness prevailed, they should be stripped of that title and it should be given to the team that finished 2nd that year. But we all know that won't happen. So the reality is that the Saints will forever have an asterisk next to their so-called world title. In my eyes they are not champions. They are admitted cheaters.
Let's not forget the fact that we can trace Peyton Manning's neck issues to a late, dirty hit on Peyton by the Redskins in 2006. The defensive coordinator of the Redskins in 2006? Gregg Fucking WIlliams.
Before any moron comes out and says that "every team does this" let me just come out and tell you to shut the fuck up in advance. That goes for you, cuntyLevy. I don't care who else has done it. Completely irrelevant. There's no proof of anyone else doing it. The Saints got caught and are admitted cheaters. The penalty will be severe.

Is this supposed to do something besides waste bandwidth? If it was another team besides the Indy Dolts you wouldn't give 2 fucking shits you peyton manning bitch
Re: Saints CHEATED, Super Bowl Victory TAINTED
The NFL needs to put an end to cheating. It taints the game and destroys its' credibility. The only way to stop it is to bring down the hammer and make the penalty severe. Make the Saints forfeit their rings. That's the only way to stop it. Otherwise, teams will just keep cheating, figuring they don't mind giving up a fine and some draft picks in the future, if they get to win a Super Bowl for it.LAglamrocker wrote:just another reason Wrestlemaniia in a stadium is a better event, year after year

They had bounties on my team and I think you need to shut the fuck up. Nobody gives a fuck. It's football. People get hit. They get hit by people. Hard.
Maybe if you had seen real football and not this watered arena league bs, you would understand.

It's funny how you point the finger at 31 teams but look the other way when your team gets caught doing the same type of thing.poizond13 wrote:Do you really want to talk about SpyGate again? And for the record, while putting a bounty on opposing players may cross a line, it's not cheating.

It's against the rules. It's cheating. Though it's no surprise to me that a Patriots fan would be a sympathizer of admitted cheaters.SkyDog112046 wrote: It's funny how you point the finger at 31 teams but look the other way when your team gets caught doing the same type of thing.

And maybe I missed this, but when did we get caught cheating?? I sure did not see anything of the sort.

When I heard the report on Fox Sports Radio this afternoon, I immediately laughed out loud 'cause I knew exactly who would be starting a thread about it.

"You" got caught cheating by the NFL Network at the Superbowl, an incident which mirrored past reports.poizond13 wrote:It's against the rules. It's cheating. Also, Polian had been caught threatening or trying to influence refs during games and was banned from several stadiums for it.
And if you want to talk about breaking rules there is always secretly negotiating with another city for your football team and then packing up and moving them in the middle of the night. While sending each of the trucks on a different route so they wouldn't be stopped. Yeah, that's completely above board.

I wonder if Greggles would be stamping his little feets in protest if the Saints had beat the shit out of the Patriots in the Superbowl instead of the Colts?

Re: Saints CHEATED, Super Bowl Victory TAINTED
This sort of thing is part of the boundary pushing that exists in the game. You do shit on the field and you get away with it or you get penalised. It's a calculated risk of the sort taken in all sports.
I don't like the idea of player bounties at all, but I bet a lot more teams have done it, and I don't consider it something that taints their Superbowl win. Their image? Sure. But not their win. Unlike spy cams or any other shit, the actions they took as a result of this were undertaken on the field in the clear sight of the referees. They gained no unfair advantage from this policy, and in a league where hitting the QB is one of the most prestigious stats, they didn't do anything every other team wasn't doing, they just put some back room incentives in place for it. Not cool, but not cheating and not an unfair advantage in their games during those seasons, Superbowl or otherwise.
Obviously worthy of some form of punishment though.

Gotta stand up for what is right, here. Saints did break the rules. As much as they tried, Favre still kept coming. Fuck the Saints. Can't wait for the punishment!

Since they can't take a first round pick this year, they should take away their franchise tag.

There's a rule against it, and the Saints will get hit hard. They're not the only ones who do it, but they're the ones who got caught. In this "player safety first" era, Goodell will want to make an example of them. I'm guessing they'll lose a few draft picks.Kid-Wicked wrote:what rule number is it?poizond13 wrote:The NFL has an explicit rule against bounties, you stupid fucking idiot.Kid-Wicked wrote:

But to Greggles, the ONLY teams in the NFL that cheat are the ones who beat the Colts..
