He's considered a favorite because the sports media in this country absolutely refuse to pay attention to the other 20 or more golfers who kick ass. There is some really good talent out there that just go ignored.

You don't really see this in my favorite sport, football.

Some will say the Tebow circus started to go that way but it didn't bother me at all. He was a big story and he was actually playing (and winning!) - he wasn't a sideshow like Tiger, Kournakova, or Patrick.

To be fair, Mickelson needs to be mentioned for contention in a sport where he has won at that particular even 3 times in the past. Its not like they rebuild the Augusta course every couple of years to fuck with people. The same can kinda be said for Tiger...he was, and could be again, a phenomenal golfer of which we may never see again in our lifetimes.

I mean really, who actually thought going in Thursday that Bubba Watson had a half-assed chance in hell of winning the Masters? Yep...no one...

A-rod gets less press because he's not the best in the world anymore. Neither is Tiger. ESPN are the biggest culprits, but they all do it. Tiger is a non-story in reality.

Tiger, Michael Jordan and Ali are the only three athletes of my lifetime that had people watching that didn't even care about their sport. No matter what A Rod does statistically he'll never be an icon.
