Wrong, wrong, wrong. The regular refs are the greedy ones and the ones to blame for this whole mess. They're already guaranteed to make over $200,000 per year for a job in which they work one day a week for about 5 months out of the year! And yet they want more? Who are the greedy ones again?Crazy Levi wrote:OK, so the NFL was able to ALMOST pull off this charade for three weeks.
We saw the cracks in week one, things got weirder - and worse - last week. And this weekend was a complete disaster.
Fuck the scabs. Fuck the NFL. They are greedy cocksuckers and the refs clearly DESERVE whatever they are asking for.
The scabs are fucking lowlife scumbag scabs who are scabbing it up at a discount for the NFL. The scabs and the NFL deserve each other. It's fun watching them both humiliate each other ever weekend.
I would agree with you if the regular refs were really that good. But they are not. I've seen too many missed calls, inconsistency, and blown games. I don't mind them getting the raise, but I don't want the league to cave in on the performance issue. If they're really worth all that money, they shouldn't have a problem with it.Crazy Levi wrote:The real refs are worth every penny they are asking for, and benefits.
Without them, the league is a joke.
Maybe that's good enough for you P13, but I expect better. I guess that's because I'm an actual football fan, not just a Colts/Manning fan.
No, actually it shows that you have no idea what is going on and are totally ignorant on the facts. You don't know what the issues are in this labor dispute. You don't know what the refs are demanding. You don't understand the issues at stake. I'm siding with the league because in the long run, that's what is going to benefit the game. I want to see more stringent evaluations of officials, and I want to see poor performing refs being taken out. That's the way it should be and that's what the NFL is fighting for. If the NFL gets that done, it will mean better officiating in the long run, which is good for the game. That's what I'd like to see. You, on the other hand, are siding with a group of people that wants a huge raise, and doesn't want to be evaluated or held responsible for mistakes that they make. I don't see why you or anyone else would support that. Oh yeah, it's because you're a fucking idiot.TawnyVonJagger wrote:Bull fucking shit. The regulars do make mistakes, sure. TawnyVonJagger wrote:Great. Then I hope the scabs stay on another week, and fuck the Colts next week. Can't wait to hear the crying and wailing from you then!Honest to God, I seriously don't see how you've lived this long, being the little troll cocksucker cunt you are. By the way, what the fuck are you doing here? Weren't you supposed to leave Sludge after losing that bet?
There are good crews and bad crews. The good crews deserve what they make and are obviously head and shoulders above the replacements. Hell, in my opinion Hochuli is actually one of the best refs out there. Mistakes happen to everyone, and at least he owned up to it afterward. But his crew is pretty consistently good. There are others, like Ron Winters, who are routinely horrible, inconsistent, and need to be weeded out. That's why I'm in favor of the NFL's proposed system of monitoring referee performance and disciplining those who don't do their jobs well. I don't see why ANY NFL fan would be against that.Heenan Snuka wrote:anybody that watched this weekend's games can see the real ref's are worth what they makepoizond13 wrote:No, actually it shows that you have no idea what is going on and are totally ignorant on the facts. this is bullshit
I'd take Ed Hochuli anyday over this shit

What's more, is that the economic issues aren't even the sticking point anymore. The NFL has stated they're willing to compromise on the salary issue, if the refs will accept the operational changes. These are designed to improve the game and make the referees take more responsibility for their actions. For example, the NFL wants to be able to "bench" refs that perform poorly, and replace them with another crew. The refs are against it! So they want a big raise, and they also don't want to be evaluated and they don't want to face the consequences of poor performance. Sounds like bullshit to me.
What's funny is, last year everyone was complaining about the refs and asking the NFL to demand more accountability from them. Now the NFL is trying to get that done, and they are taking a public beating for it.
I't's also laughable to blame the replacements. They are simply out there doing a job and trying to do their best. Let's not forget, the regular refs have cost many teams games as well. Remember Hochuli in Denver?

And read this you cunt. http://www.trbimg.com/img-5057bc5f/turb ... 7/187/16x9But Scott Green, the referee who's head of the NFL Referees Association, says there's one proposal above all others that he and his colleagues can't manage to swallow: the league wants to freeze their long-running pension plans and switch them to less attractive 401(k)-style retirement plans.

The bra-and-panty league confirmed that a couple crews now working NFL games couldn't hack it on their girly gridiron and were fired, Deadspin first reported on Tuesday.
"Due to several on-field incompetent officiating we chose to part ways with a couple of crews which apparently are now officiating in the NFL," the league said. "We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations."
I love how you and every other idiot supporter of the refs ignores the fact that I already stated, numerous times, I don't mind the refs getting paid. I don't mind them getting their benefits. The good ones should. My problem with them, as stated over and over again, is their desire to avoid performance evaluations and discipline. Seems like you idiots keep ignoring this fact, because you can't defend it.SkyDog112046 wrote:Are you fucking retarded? The NFL is big business, and makes money hand over fist. They should be able to hire the refs full time and give them benefits so the refs can train and prepare for the games the same way the players do - working out, attending meetings, and watching film so they can stay with the speed of the game.
It's long past the time where it's just a matter of the refs showing up on Sunday and then going home. The NFL makes roughly $9B in revenues each year. Clearly they can afford the less than $15M it would take to have 70 full time refs making $200k plus benefits - we're talking about 0.17% of all revenues to ensure the integrity of the game.

There's nothing to address. I already said numerous times, I don't have a problem with the refs getting their financial/benefit demands. That includes their pension. I never said they were in the wrong on that.WTF wrote:Cum gargler, why don't you address what I posted above?poizond13 wrote: I love how you and every other idiot supporter of the refs ignores the fact that I already stated, numerous times, I don't mind the refs getting paid. But here's the thing - WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK.poizond13 wrote: What you, or anyone else, can't and won't explain is why the refs refuse to take any agreement that includes fair performance evaluations and possible discipline for poor performance. You people seem to ignore it like the plague, even though it's one of the main issues they are bargaining about. So tell me, why can't the refs be evaluated on their performance?
