"Robert Griffin III -- a man who needn't worry about job security -- became the second rookie in NFL history to reach 1,000 passing yards in his first four games. He also tied the Redskins' single-season record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. Again, this is Week 4."

Is he a running back or qb? I can't tell.
What's the track record for running qbs in the NFL?

And unlike other QBs who are racking up yards throwing 50 times a game, RG3 is throwing 30 times a game for over 70%.
THIS IS COMPLETELY UNHEARD OF for a rookie.
Anybody who knows anything about football would understand this.

You didn't answer the question. I guess even you're confused.

How? Did I complain about the refs for the last month straight? Because that would be embarrassing.
You still didn't answer the question.

He def looks like the real deal, barring injury should join the list of Newton, Marino and Big Ben as best rookie QB seasons ever.

He showed veteran poise on that last drive.

He did it at the end of the first half, too. Drove them down the field for a last minute field goal attempt.
Shanahan has to stop wasting timeouts on stupid challenges. This is two weeks in a row.

He's having a better rookie year than Cam did. That's impressive. That kid will be winning games for a long time to come. That defense though. Ugh.

Why are you licking his and Levy's balls simultaneously? It's honestly pretty sickening. Get a room, you two!

Everyone who knows anything about football is sucking RG3 balls, and mine for that matter, Greeg.
Get that shit straight, faggot!
And spit Luck's and Bert's balls out while yet at it.

Really? That's funny because I was watching NFL network last night and RG3's highlights were buried until the end of the show and barely mentioned.
You still didn't answer the question, boy. Is he a QB or RB? Jury's still out.

Is THAT the question?
He's a QB, obviously.
Running backs don't become only the second rookie QB ever to throw for 1,000 yards in their first 4 games, boy.
For a guy who pretends to "know football" you are making yourself look really bad trying to denigrate the accomplishments of a someone who is off to one of the best starts in rookie QB history. Why are you doing that?

That kid is a bad ass QB. He was going to succeed no matter where he got drafted. Think about it dude, he plays for the fucking Redskins and he's winning. Washington finally got a draft pick right. Levy is just the lucky recipient.

Nice, you finally answered part of the question instead of continuing to ignore it. Now for Part B:
What's the track record for running qbs in the NFL?

My honest assessment of him is that he's a run first QB. Sure, he can do great things on his legs. But that doesn't work in the NFL, in the long run. As for him winning, he's barely 2-2 against an incredibly soft schedule. Not exactly earth shattering.
And just to be clear, I'm not rooting against him. He seems like a good kid and I hope he succeeds. Unlike Levy, I won't let someone on a message board dictate who I root for.

RG3 passing yards per game - 286
Luck passing yards per game - 282
I guess Luck is a run first QB too.

No, you are wrong.
Luck THROWS many more passes, which is why his completion percentage is so much lower. So clearly, he's a "throwing" QB - he's throwing 53% percent completions.
Luck's QBR is 75.
That's pretty bad. I'll take a running back throwing at 70 percent with a QBR over 100 anyday over a pedestrian quarterback like Luck.
But hey, what's in a name anyway.

What's the track record for running qbs in the NFL?

Gregg, you are trolling again.
I thought the question was "is RG3 a RB or a QB?"
I already answered that. He's a QB.

Read my first post in this thread. There were two questions. Very simple ones, I might add. So far you're ignoring the second one. Nothing "troll" about it.

RG3 is putting up some of the best passing numbers we've ever seen in a rookie QB.
Therefore, I refuse to concede he is a "running QB," and therefore, I refuse to answer your question as it is irrelevant.
Next troll, please.

Why are you ducking out of the question like a sneaky politician? Oh yeah, because you don't want to admit, to yourself and to this board, that running QBs almost NEVER succeed in the NFL in the long run.

Track record for running QB's? Well, I got one for ya. How about Steve Young? MVP, Super Bowl Champion, and Hall of Famer. Like many running QB's, they can start off their career running around when they need to, but as they get older, they either stick in the pocket and become a pocket passer or get crushed. Steve Young adapted. Let's hope RGIII does when it's time. But for now, he's young and durable, let him do what he does.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
John Elway comes to mind as well.
Some guys though, they can't see past "black" and lump RG3 in with other "running QBs." Or Jamarcus Russel, for no good reason.
What kind of a racist moron would compare someone like RG3 in with Purple Drank, just because they are both black?!
poizond13 wrote:Like I said before, RG3 will be a bust. Yeah, he's big, he's fast, and has a cannon for an arm. So did JaMarcus Russell.
Oh, right.
