Re: Who You'd Rather Have As A QB..Joe Montana or Peyton Man
Montana because he didn't whine and wave his hands after every bad throw like a fucking baby.
And he didn't choke more dicks then a hooker in the post season.
Andddddddddd, he didn't selfishly need to throw 43+ times every game, he actually knew there are other players on the team and some of them are running backs....But Manning would need to be taught about those guys.
Someone needs to take away Manning's passing audibles.

Probably Peyton for regular season and pretty much anybody else for playoffs.
Not to nitpick but that's twice you put down Manning as having an 8-9 record.
After yesterday his record is 9-11.

I wouldn't want manning during the regular season or playoffs. Give me Joe for both. God, it's a fine morning know that the biggest fraud in NFL history is done again early in the postseason!!!!

Manning. Joe Montana has been retired forever, I don't think he's the same Joe Montana we remember.

I'd take Montana in his prime over anybody. I'd take Brady over Manning too.

How the fuck is this even an issue?
Montana put up those numbers up and won 4 rings back when DBs were still allowed to mug WRs.
Calvin Johnson broke Jerry Rice's record this year too. Does anyone actually think that he's a better WR than Rice?

Re: Who You'd Rather Have As A QB..Joe Montana or Peyton Man
Rules get tweaked here and there over the years. In the late 70's a lot of defensive rules changed to "favor" the offense. Joe's first year was 1979. For much of his career, he had to play by rules that are still in place now. Over the past few years, things have changed much more to "favor" the offense. But that certainly doesn't encompass 1998-current. You have to say manning TOTALLY BLEW many opportunities over the years.Lonsome Crow wrote:How the fuck is this even an issue?

Joe Montana. Peyton is way overrated and at this stage of his career, he really is overrated. Denver basically has built their team around a guy who cant scramble well and cant take any hits.

How and the fuck is this even a question? You have argueabley the greatest QB of all time vs. a guy who chokes in the post season harder than Alex Rodriguez.
I've got an even better question. Who would you rather have? A ( in his prime ) Micheal Jordan or Sam Bowie?
Jesus.

Hard to go against Joe Montana, particularly in the post season.
Brady would be a close second -- he only chokes against the Giants.

Joe Montana - 4 super bowls, 4 wins, ZERO INTs.
Some people around here seem to think INTs are an impressive stat, and just a cost of doing business in today's NFL when you have your QB throwing 60 times a game.
Those people are idiots.

Re: Who You'd Rather Have As A QB..Joe Montana or Peyton Man
I might even put Dan Fouts ahead of Manning. Guy never had the slightest bit of a defense.
I put Manning right along with guys like Marion, Fouts and Moon, and Tarkenton. Those guys were never lucky enough to face Rex Grossman in a Super Bowl. He's a great qb and Hall Of Famer, but nothing like puss13 thinks.
He couldn't hold Montana's chinstrap.

After watching Peyton's last playoff performance, I'm also less impressed than ever with is every-play audible fest of retarded hand signs and stupid shouting. They didn't seem very effective, and at least half the time it's probably bullshit anyway.NeverSurrender wrote:I might even put Dan Fouts ahead of Manning. I think the Ravens had that figured out. It's not like THEY were changing things up after Peyton put on his dog and pony show before every play.

Manning wins regular season games. Montana wins titles. Enough said.
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.

Re: Who You'd Rather Have As A QB..Joe Montana or Peyton Man
At this point, Manning is clearly hurting his legacy by continuing to play.
He's obviously never going to win in the playoffs again - what with his worsening performances. Seems he never recovered from choking in the Super Bowl when he realized he wasn't playing a team led by Rex Grossman.
So he'll continue playing and maybe lose another couple playoff games. If he just retired when neckapolypse happened, people would have remembered him more fondly.
But looks like he's going the Brett Favre route.

At least Favre has a winning record in the postseason. And many records that manning will never attain. Also, not a douchebag.Crazy Levi wrote:At this point, Manning is clearly hurting his legacy by continuing to play.

Manning is good at what he does, which is confuse defense with his audibles, but I'd take Montana over him any day...
