Mount Rushmore of any of your favorite teams?

Post by NeverSurrender »

They have been doing this on NBCs sports and I'm curious as to who you guys would put on here for your favorite teams. Players coaches and Owners eligible. Even a team's famous broadcaster if you care to do that.

And any sport is cool, even you soccer homos.

Vikings:

1. Bud Grant
2. Fran Tarkenton
3. Alan Page
4. Adrian Peterson

Dodgers:

1. Jackie Robinson
2. Duke Snyder
3. Tommy Lasorda
4. Vin Scully

Islanders:

1. Al Arbour
2. Denis Potvin
3. Mike Bossy
4. Billy Smith

Tough to leave Trottier of the Isles list.

Your turn.

Montreal Canadiens:
Maurice Richard
Jean Beliveau
Guy Lafleur
Patrick Roy

Note: I could have made another one with Howie Morenz, Jacques Plante, Doug Harvey, Larry Robinson, and I'd still be leaving out guys who won 10 cups, like Yvan Cournoyer and Henri Richard

Montreal Expos:
Gary Carter
Andre Dawson
Tim Raines
Vlad Guerrero

Maybe Pedro makes it onto there; I'm partial to Larry Walker too

SF Giants:
Orlando Cepeda
Willie Mays
Willie McCovey
Barry Bonds (or maybe Bobby)

I was going to say-
for you Celtic fans, Pierce has to be on the list regardless if you like him or not.

He shouldn't be ahead of McHale, imo.

I know he is known as more of a Saint but Sam Mills was pretty important to the Panthers, no?

Yeah, Sam Mills, along with Kerry Collins, were pretty much guarantees for most popular Panther jerseys sold in the first couple years, I'm sure. Those were the 2 I'd say I remember seeing the most, at least.

Then, of course, a little later was Carruth.

Taylor is definitely iffy and probably shows a generational bias.

Both Maddux and Jenkins had over 300 wins. I'd take Grace before I'd take Ryno. Give me the guy who led the 90s in hits and chain smoked in the dugout.
