A look at the November 1980 re-match between Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran and how two infamous words haunt both

Looking forward to the film.

Fuck yeah.

Anybody remember how shitty "UNO Mas" was 8 or 9 years later?

Who watched the program last night?

Very good documentary. Duran was a maniac in the 1st fight. His tempo was unstoppable in the first fight. A small part of me was happy Sugar Ray got his ass handed to him in the 1st fight.

Fight #2 should not have happened so soon. Only 5 months after the first fight. Duran's handlers went after the money first and thought about their fighter second. Duran was not prepared to fight. He will still living off beating Sugary Ray and gorging on food, wine and the ladies.

The end of the film was a major disappointment. Sugar Rays flies to Panama for the very first time in his life, meets Duran in hopes to get an honest explanation why he quit in the 2nd fight, but Duran did not give Sugar the satisfaction.
Duran stuck to one of his many excuses-Cramps due to drinking a very hot cup of coffee. WTF!!!!

Damn forgot about the show I'll have to check for the repeat.

I never cared much for Sugar Ray but the fight that drove me the most nuts about him was the Marvin Hagler fight that was some bullshit right there.

Bullshit?

Sugar Ray beat Hagler fair and square. You can debate style points but Hags basically gave away most of the first half of the fight and he wasn't gonna crawl out of that hole without a knockout.

Kudos for Hagler for stepping away after that fight for a career in shitty Italian action movies. Very few boxers walk away at the right time and he's one of the few.

Duran was fighting till he was 50 for Christ sake.
