I'm always up for a good rugby thread, but really, you're skiting about something that's so far beneath the American radar you may as well hype the fact you've got more kangaroos. It's not even the form of the game that's got any profile in the States.

Besides, Rugby League just doesn't warrant a World Cup. There's a total of two interesting games in the tournament - the final and whichever semi features two of the big three. The final might be good though.

Isn't this like Canada beating Cameroon at curling?

This.

On other news, congrats on the All Blacks going through the year unbeaten. Ireland gave them a scare though. I was hoping they would hold on for the win as it would have been good for world rugby imo.

It's symbolic. The "0" score represents how many people in the U.S. care.

I think Americans would like league more than union as the "6 tackles" to move the ball up the field is somewhat similar to 4 downs in football. Too much kicking in union.

Which only reiterates my point about a League World Cup (unfortunately).

There was basically one competitive, meaningful game in the whole tournament - the NZ/England semi.

The final was a particularly brutal beating, but let's face it, Australia are going to beat the Kiwis 9 out of every 10 games.

I understand why they want to have a World Cup, but it just doesn't work.
