Reporting two confirmed deaths. Not sure of injuries, but in reality(aside from the two deaths)they were very lucky to have this occur during lunch. There were few people on site at the time.

FIFA has been pressuring Brazil to get the remaining infrastructure for the World Cup DONE. This was the result.

I get they want to spread the event around, and give the different soccer mad continents and countries a chance to host the event, but FIFA needs to look long and hard if awarding tournaments to 2nd/3rd world countries, with little infrastructure in place, and not much in the way of regulatory bodies, is the right thing to do.

Let the US host it. Spain, France, England, Italy, etc. Not countries that can't host a world class event any better than Botswana can.

Been watching this unfold since Brazil was announced as the host and all I can say is. The World Cup should never have been held in Brazil. End of story.

Even the kabillion dollar stadiums that remain wont be standing in 3-5 years but some pockets will be lined forever. The corruption and impact is beyond sickening. The rich and outsiders will benefit while the poor and locals take it up the ass. The impact from this shit will last a long time, over a fucking soccer match.

I might actually be there visiting a friend around the time of the tournament. Would probably be fun, as opposed to Europe. I don't really give a shit about organisation shortcomings, at least spread the money around a little bit. That's what really bothers the rich country critics about shit like this and the Olympics in Russia.

Qatar, however, is a different story altogether. Their death count is already insane and that world cup is flat-out supporting slavery.
