Tony Gwynn died from cancer today. He was only 54.
Gwynn was one of those guys who defined my youthful experience as a baseball fan. I think of Gwynn, George Brett, Mike Schmidt, Kirby Puckett, and Robin Yount as baseball heroes. I'm sorry to see him go. By all accounts he was a class act all the way.
