Who says NASCAR drivers aren't athletes?

I present to you Xfinity series driver Mike Harmon.

On a more serious note, it's amazing he survived one of the scariest wrecks in racing.

It's great that he did, because he's living the life, eating whatever he wants and driving a race car. He's more genuine than a kid whose parents have connections or money. And that mane is glorious.

It doesn't matter if NASCAR drivers are athletes, because it's not an athletic competition.

Fat guy in fast car beats athletic guy in in slow car, every time.

That extra 100 lbs has him slower in the field than the little guys that weigh 150.

I think the extra weight helps stabilize the car, always critical with high banking.

And sure, I could use the example of Jimmie Johnson, but he's kind of boring, and not just because he doesn't eat a bucket of KFC after every race.

Bartolo Colon is the Mike Harmon of baseball.
Bartolo Colon is the ultimate strawman. He’s a glimmer of hope for every old-timer, has-been, or never-was.

Listed at 5’11”, 285 pounds, and 45-years-old, this living incarnation of a meme threw 146 1⁄3 innings for the Texas Rangers in 2018. They weren’t particularly good innings (5.47 FIP, 81 strikeouts), but they were innings all the same, and in the major leagues no less.
