Could Varney or someone have sold stuff like this, back in the day? Most likely. But not only would I not have been willing to pay for it, it's the sort of stuff I would immediately trade the review copy in, after listening. And by 1995, there wouldn't have been a market at all, even with the bass-slappage. It sounds more dated than it is, and not even in the retro-cool way, like MONDO TOPLESS has.
