You know, particularly when you're talking about humor, the word "perverse" doesn't necessarily apply to sexual things. If used in that context it usually has to be clarified by saying specifically "sexually perverse", otherwise it can be taken to simply mean "contrarian" or "contradictory".

It just means that somebody tends to see things in an unconventional way.
