I was in almost the same situation a few years ago, well around 1998, with a girl that I was dating and two bottles of red wine solved the problem. I started to rub the GF's neck, and then the best friend innocently got jealous so the GF started to rub her neck, and then I began to kiss the back of the GF's neck and the rest is history. Well, the GF ended up passing out and the best friend and I continued on, but that was never talked about. The next day it was all blamed on the wine.
