Hary Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.I give it 3 out of 5 stars.IMHO,the dullest one yet.But as I understood it,they cut out some key scenes from the book because the next 2 movies are going to be more action packed.Still,I can't wait until Nov 2010 for the next one!

Still Waiting 2/5
This is the sequel to 'Waiting' which is a great movie. If you've ever worked in the service industry ( I did at 18 ), you will think it's fucking hilarious.
The sequel of course was gonna be stupid, I knew that. Most of the original cast isn't in it. I thought it was just a rehash of the original's jokes.
"Natasha" ( Vanessa Lengies, who I have a "thing" for ) was in it for like 2 minutes, and Luis Guzman who is one of my favorite actors, makes a return. So I have to give a zero rating movie two points.

Diary Of The Dead - 5/10.
Different premise. Romero had his hand in it which helped a bit.
Some jump out scares along with the stupid shit.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
I saw Funny People and Orphan this weekend.
Funny People was ok. I thought it was hindered by a lack of likeable characters though. Seth Rogen's character was a little too awkward for me, though by the end he gets back into his "lovable shlub" groove. Everyone else in the movie was kind of an asshole (except for Adam Sandler, whose character was a HUGE asshole). The only other character I had any sympathy at all for was Eric Bana's, though I'm pretty sure that was intentional. A big problem for this one is that everyone will go in thinking it's a comedy, which it's not. It's a drama with a few funny parts to it. Unfortunately, with Apatow directing and Rogen and Hill in the cast, most people are going to assume this one's a laugh riot.
I give Funny People a 6 out of 10.
Orphan was a surprise. I was figuring this would be a schlocky, "white-bread family adopt's Satan's Child" deal - luckily, it wasn't. The movie starts with a pretty visceral scene, then does a great job of making you uncomfortable for the entire time. Esther's definitely creepy, and i was glad to see that eerie supernatural powers had nothing to do with it. It's not especially gory, but it does rely on at least a few classic horror movie tricks to get a rise out of the audience. I recommend it - it's something a little different, and you will definitely cheer when Esther finally gets what's coming to her.
I give Orphan a 8 out of 10.

Rewatched Pelham 123 again last night. Perfect story. Perfect casting. Perfectly executed with great shots of the city.
Who the fuck decided to try to remake this movie? There's no way they could get away with the things Matthau even says to the Japanese guys at the beginning.
I'll never see the remake but I bet it's worse than the Bad News Bears remake.

That flick almost made me barf. It was so awful I watched it twice just to punish myself for watching it the first time. And this is coming from someone who thinks Sandra Bullock's resume pisses all over Al Pacino's.krazeebaybee wrote:He's Just Not That Into You

Frost/Nixon - I'd give it an 8 cause I like these kinds of movies and it's well done, and I'm a sucker for anything Nixon related.
Kinda looses a point or two for Mike Sheen - he's good but he plays Frost as the exact same kind of smiling idiot he played Tony Blair as in The Queen.
The dude is gonna have to broaden his range a bit.

Gattaca - 8/10
Great movie, great story. Pretty all-around good, just didn't hit a 9 for me.
And before that:
Starship Troopers - 7/10
Fucking hilarious and very entertaining. Trumped by Gattaca.

The American Drug War: The Last White Hope - 5/5
Amazing doc. Disturbing facts and footage of prisoners, drug dealers and United States gov't lies and corruption, most of it created and operated by the biggest drug dealers in the history of mankind, the CIA... and described in detail by LAPD cops, ex-CIA and ex-DEA agents, Superior Court Judge James Gray, "Freeway" Ricky Ross..inventor of CRACK and many advocates for marijuana, med marijuana and various forms of decriminalization and legalization.
"Ricky Ross is serving George Bush's sentence!"
It was a really great doc -- about a really fucking stupid thing.
Jorge Cervantes Ultimate Grow Vol 3 - 4/5
Vol 1 and 2 were better. But I recommend all 3 for fun.

7 out of 10. predictable in some spots, but even then they still manage to throw you a curve ball. Kinda leaves you hanging at the end, but i guess that's a good way to pave the road for a sequel.
plus Dennis Quaid is in it. you can't go wrong with him.
Absolutely a terrible ending. Beyond terrible. I couldn't believe is was that shitty.
-14 out of 10, for making me like it then crushing me.
You and me, both.
Just watched it last night and easily figured it out/saw it coming, too.
They should have thrown a twist in there, rather than being able to see it coming from a mile away.
Would've been a lot better overall movie, in the end.

AKA Tommy Chong - 5/5 - It was a great doc about a sad thing. It was surreal, it was, as an American.... very un-American and really fucking pathetic.
John Ashcroft is a law breaking, US Bill of Rights ignoring, ignorant, shit for brains, treasonous fucking asshole and a piece of shit of a human being.
...and everyone in the United States not fucking pissed about the constant daily erosion of their American fucking rights and the growing felonization for profit of this country is a fucking stupid asshole.

Gran Torino- 9 out of 10 only for the kids shitty acting. Eastwood was a fucking riot but had my tears jerkin towards the end for his selfless sacrifice.
Taken- 2 out of 10 because it was unbelievable. no way someone goes through that much glass in a movie without ever gettin believably bloody. i.e. Die Hard. Bruce is bloody from almost the get-go and you would agree in those situations, one would be dirty and cut up A LOT.

I saw Orphan today, and it was better then I expected. Highly entertaining with some very twisted moments.Trist805 wrote:I agree I really liked this as well. I went in not expecting much but ended up being entertained We've all seen "killer kid" flicks before, but this one had the right bad attitude.
I also saw Funny People, and it wasn't great. Sandler tries to do another melodrama mixed in with comedy. Seth Rogan is pretty good, but the movie goes on for 2.5 hours. Way too long for a comedy, and also no really hilarious moments, just a few funny jokes here and there.
Thumbs up, I'll give it a 7/10!

GI Joe:
Went to the midnight showing last night since I've been waiting for this movie ever since I was a kid. Theater was pretty packed, but I don't think it was sold out.
But anyways... I really enjoyed it and thought it was better than either Transformers film. There was already a huge backlash against it a full year before it came out, so I know good & well a lot of people are gonna hate it right off the bat just because "OMG itz not lik teh comix!!11" Personally, I thought pretty much everyone did a good job, especially Ray Park as Snake Eyes and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. VERY anxious to see a sequel because I want to see more Cobra Commander.
I'd give it a 8 out of 10.
