Casper. 8/10. The SNL cameos at the beginning were a hoot. Though Casper could have solved his dilemma by killing Cristina Ricci at the beginning of the film.
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Transporter 2 and 3 - 3 was better than 2, but PG-13 action flicks just don't cut it. I like lots of F-bombs & titties with my car chases & gun fights. I don't know how there managed to be 3 of these movies. 6/10.
Year One - Meh. Jack Black just ain't funny. Maybe he's a funny guy to drink with or whatever, but his movies pretty much suck. Lame script here, too. 5/10.
Freddy vs Jason - Terrible plot, but still a decent slasher. Definitely no new ground being broken here. 7/10
Last House On The Left 2009 - Didn't really get into it until the goons got to the girls house, then it picked up the pace. 7/10
Observe & Report - People seem to either love this movie or hate it. Put me in the latter. The outtakes were the funniest part. 3/10

White Noise: 6/10 - Been a while since I seen this one, so I picked up at Big Lots for $3 yesterday since they had a small display of horror movies. I love Michael Keaton and even though this is not his best movie by far, it's still worth a watch or two.
Jersey Girl 7/10 - This was the only Kevin Smith movie I hadn't seen, and now since I've seen it, I wish I wouldn't of waited so long. I really enjoyed it MUCH more than I thought I would. Even Ben Affleck was decent in it, which was a shocker to me.

Death Race: 7/10 - This movie is the closest thing we'll ever get to a Twisted Metal film, but still... I thought it was good. Kinda reminded me of The Running Man, just with cars.

Took the boy to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs saturday. I laughed out loud a couple of times, it had a unique plot kept him interested. 8/10.
Plus it had Mr T's voice.

The Blu Ray of Ferris Bueller's Day off has GREAT extras including rare John Hughes stuff.
I'm fascinated by that guy.

The Fountain - 3/10
This movie had no clear direction or character development, and nothing to tie scenes together cohesively. Sucked balls. Hugh Jackman's best role yet, my ass.
Night Watch - 6.5/10
Not bad, but nothing particularly original. Full of action, very comic-bookish. Nescafe company is featured prominently throughout, they must've sunk some money into this.

Pretty much my thoughts as well...Cera is definitely funnier than Black.ME262 wrote:Year One - Meh. Jack Black just ain't funny. Maybe he's a funny guy to drink with or whatever, but his movies pretty much suck. Lame script here, too. 5/10.

Paranormal Activity - worst pile of shit ever made. I've never seen an audience BOO at the end of a movie.

Boxing Helena - 6/10. Had never seen this before until a couple days ago. It was intriguing, but overall nothing spectacular.
Couples Retreat - 8/10. I agree with one of the posters above. It had it's funny moments, and also got me thinking. Good flick.

watched The Dark Knight on Blueray (first blueray I ever bought)
I am keeping my rating at 8/10
Heath Ledger was even more brilliant than I remembered, and equally, Patrick Bateman was even more dull

Paranormal Activity - 9/10
Saw it last night and thought it was absolutely incredible. One of the creepiest movie's I've ever seen and it got a loud applause once it was done. The last movie I saw that gave me a reaction similar to the one I had last night was The Ring. Bravo to the film maker....bravo.

Year One--5/10 Mediocre is being generous; a couple of laughs but not many.
Anvil: The Story of Anvil--7/10 Good doc, but I'm not sure it was quite worth all the hype. The same movie could have been made about a hundred other (more deserving) bands.

High Noon (with Grace Kelly) - 8. I didn't see the whole thing though. *Edited to add: I just saw the whole thing the other night. Grace plays the new wife of the marshal.
South Pacific (with Mitzi Gaynor) - 7. * Edited to add: Kind of cheesy. The color filters they use for some of the scenes make it hard to watch.

Zombieland - 8.5 outta 10. Funny as shit. Especially the part with "B.M." This one lived up to the hype, IMO.

Cry_Wolf: 6/10 - For what it was... it was pretty decent. Reminded me of the late 90's early '00 slasher flicks like Scream and Urban Legend.

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan - 8/10
Told from the Cylons point of view from the original attack through the time #1 was outed as a Cylon.
I now know why it wasn't shown on T.V., they show BOOBIES!!!

A slasher movie that came out in 2005 reminded you of the slasher flicks of the early 00s? Cool.silent_eyes wrote:Cry_Wolf: 6/10 - For what it was... it was pretty decent. Reminded me of the late 90's early '00 slasher flicks like Scream and Urban Legend.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Agreed. Almost all the "Apatow crew" fall into what I call the Will Ferrel category...Really funny if they have 10 minutes or less total screen time in a movie. Anything more than that and they start to get annoying, none of them are really funny enough to carry a movie on their own.Bridget wrote:I didn't think it was bad, but I'm getting really sick of Jason Segel and Paul Rudd.johnk5150 wrote:I may be the only person that doesn't get I Love You Man

The film had some flaws, but Malcom McDowell's portrayal of the Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, aka "The Red Ripper", was quite chilling.

Haha, yeah. Using some sort of infrared camera device, I guess they ascertained that tanks were firing into the compound. I haven't read up on it any further, but it did strike me as a bit suspect.IDIAMINDADA wrote:Is that the one that played up the "FIRE COMING FROM TANKS!!!!!" thing that well....really was a giant pile of dogshit??? I saw it when it first came out and didn't make it through the entire thing.
WACO was a debacle for sure...but I think it was far more a display of incompetence than outright malice.
Incompetence was the main thing, for sure.

The Life of David Gale - 6.5 out of 10
Decent story with interesting characters but the direction failed. the picture montage inbetween scenes was annoying and the music score interrupted the flow.
Kate Winslet, Kevin Spacey, Laura Linney and even Rhona Mitra delivered but the movie fell short. It's a decent flick that could have been better.
Worth seeing if you're a Winslet or Spacey fan.
