You didn't know anyone in the cast because none of the SEALs were actors. They were all real SEALs. That's why the acting was subpar.

Good performances, story starts out well but loses steam halfway through.
Walken and Harrellson saved the movie for me. Without them, it's maybe a 2.
Goddammit. I wanted to see this one. Do we have another Smoking Aces on our hands?

Isn't Abbie Cornish in that one? How big of a role does she have? I'll watch just about anything she's in, she was awesome in stuff like Somersault or Candy. Not to mention naked.
All the women in this movie are almost invisible. None of them do anything of note.

Just threw this in my netflix queue. This looks fun bad.

Iron Sky
2012R93 minutes
Having secretly fled to a base on the moon at the end of World War II, Nazis put the final touches on their scheme to launch an invasion of Earth. When a new space shuttle mission threatens to expose them, they rush their plan into action.

It's getting a lot of really good reviews, from critics and viewers. Maybe I'm just fucked in the head, but it didn't grab me like I hoped it would. It wasn't a waste of time just because the performances are so good, but I was hoping for a "gotta get the DVD" movie and it didn't happen for me.

Killer Joe - 9/10. Emile Hirsch and really, the whole cast is amazing. I would say it's a sort of Blue Velvety neo-noir film. Some of it's pretty disturbing, but you can't turn away. McConaughy is mesmerizing and projects a kind of "barely contained with a veneer of southern charm" explosiveness in this movie. Be careful who you watch this with - LOTS of bloody violence, full nudity, and some sex scenes that really push the boundaries of what is okay to even watch.

actually it's on my list for this evening.

just finished watching Vile. 4/10 who knew "torture porn" could be so tedious? honestly, i like the gore just as much as the next person, but at least give it a decent plot and not the lame-ass stuff they tried to pass off here.

Quarantine 2 - 5/10.
While Quarantine is a remake of REC, Quarantine 2 is not a remake of REC 2.
It does, however, take place at the same time that the apartment building is locked down.

Killer Joe: 7/10

Heard a lot about this movie and how good Matthew McConaughey was in it and I finally got the chance to watch it. The film didn't disappoint and McConaughey totally killed it with the role. I used to hate the guy but he's slowly won me over after The Lincoln Lawyer and now this film.

Safety Not Guaranteed - 8/10. Kind of an indie-type movie with Nick from New Girl and Aubrey Plaza. Three magazine employees head out on an assignment to interview the guy who placed a classified ad seeking a companion for time travel.

The Machinist - 7/10. Predictable, but still cool. Kind of expected more, though.

A Serbian Film - 9/10. Expected nothing and loved it. Why are people comparing this to generic shit like Hostel? It's like August Underground meets 8mm made by actual film makers. For fans of really disturbing movies, as opposed to silly slasher crap gore, this is up there with shit like Aftermath.

Argo-8.5/10

Well written.
Actors were all on their game.
Even the actors hired to play Iranian's were legit.
If you're into a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat
and the type of movie that might educate you on the actual events, this
movie is for you.

I heard there's also several laugh out loud scenes in it. I'm going to check it out.

He was like that with a lot of his female leads. Grace Kelly was another one he fell in love with, but she wasn't interested.

He also tried to control them/their careers.

A fun little fact:Hitchcock wanted Grace to play Tipi's role in Marnie, but she couldn't do it.

The Monarchy felt it would be a bad choice for her to play that role, so the gig landed in Tipi's lap.
I tell you what, there is no more beautiful lady that Grace Kelly.
Just watch her in "To Catch A Thief".
