Antichrist - 9/10

My initially high expectations had been scaled down so much from everybody seeming to hate it that I didn't even bother checking it out for myself until now. Turns out everybody is stupid. This movie is great in every way.

I love that film. No matter what you're expecting, the ending WILL stay with you. Brilliant. Von Trier rules.

Q ("Desire" 2011) - 6/10.

Awkward French drama about this total bitch who bangs everybody. She's like really broken inside or some shit, for reasons I didn't get (my French skills really suffer when she gets her tits out - which is kinda always). It helps that she's young and hot, though. Not a great movie by any means, but compared to other mainstream "it's totally art and not porn" movies like Baise-moi it's a fucking cineastic masterpiece.

The Iceman - Michael Shannon is a fucking force to be reckoned with. 9/10

This is an English TV doc, but I'm counting it:

The Madness of Prince Charming - 4/10 Some interesting snippets and interviews w/ Adam Ant in regards to his fight with mental illness, but it strayed heavily from the subject at hand and was more of a history of his career.

BTW - Ant fucking killed it in Seattle last night. KILLED it.

I left the gf at home to go see Riddick but all the couples were going to see this movie last night. Figured it was just a chick flick?

Riddick was a 7.5 out of 10. Nothing groundbreaking just a decent action movie. Somewhat similar to Pitch Black which was cool. Cool alien scenes in the beg. and end. I felt like Vin Deisel had more control over the movie than some studio crap and bonus points for an R-rating.

The place beyond the pines: 5.5/10
The first two segments were pretty good, but by the third act it kinda lost steam and I was starting to lose interest. It tried too hard to connect dots to the point of not being believable.

Loved it! Michael Shannon literally became Kuklinski. And every single actor in the film gave a great performance.

Didn't give it a perfect rating because it seemed a bit rushed in some parts. Nevertheless, an excellent film.

Trouble Every Day (2001) - 6/10. Pretty indy looking body horror flick from France (though English language) starring Vincent Gallo. Some original ideas and decent gore, but not exactly unforgettable.

Ip Man

A kick ass martial arts movie staring Donny Yen. Awesome. It's based loosely on the life of Bruce Lee's teacher.

There Will Be Blood 10/10!

I finally got around to watching this movie and I'm quite pleased that I did.

Daniel Day Lewis is fucking awesome! You can tell there was still a little bit of Bill the Butcher in him.

Great movie! Definitely a 10 - I agree.

Love this line....

Watched this movie last night because of the discussion here. What. The. Fuck.

Beautifully shot. Some of the slow-motion work in the forest was breathtaking.

There were some great themes and subtext. I think, though, that overall there was no real "point". For the first time ever in a movie, I cringed and closed my eyes (scissors scene). Not sorry I watched it, though.
