La belle noiseuse (1991) - 7/10. Movie about a painter creating his master piece, which is a nude. It shows pretty much nothing else but the act of modeling and painting and it runs for four fucking hours. You're literally watching paint dry, but you're also watching full frontal nudity on the part of Emmanuelle Béart in her prime, so it's definitely awesome art and totally worthwhile.
Casino Royale (2006) - 6/10. Like pretty much all James Bond movies, decent but meh...

One of my favourite live performances by them.MisterSinister wrote:"Capote" starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. 4 of 5 stars. I thought it was a great movie, and he was pretty incredible as Truman Capote. Infinitely better than "The Master" which I watched last weekend.
Musically, I watched the first hour and 45 minutes of KISS Exposed 2 Disc 1. Definitely for die hards only. In contrast, I watched the first couple hours of KISSology Volume 3 Disc 1, which has a great Revenge tour show on tape with a kind of interesting commentary track, then the Behind The Scenes short from the Un-plugged show with commentary all about the Konvention tour, then the actual full Un-plugged show.
So Exposed II gets 3 stars, KISSology 3 gets 4 stars.

Runner Runner: 5/10
With Ben Affleck and a rising star like Timberlake, the movie had potential to be very strong. Total disappointment.
Escape: 8/10
I was surprised the movie kept my interest from beginning to end.
Well written. Sly Stallone has turned into a fine actor past the age of 60.

I didn't know it was a remake. Still, I really enjoyed it and because I didn't know of the original I found the plot to be quite original.John Simon Ritchie wrote:Hopefully you are talking about the original and not the Spike Lee joint.SanityClause wrote:Oldboy 9/10

Delicatessen (1991) - 6/10. Quirky dystopian comedy from the director of Amélie and A Very Long Engagement, which I kind of liked, but consider overrated in the same way. All style, not much else.
Fauteuils d'orchestre ("Avenue Montaigne" 2006) - 5/10. Light, forgettable comedy with Cécile de France. Unfortunately, this was nothing like High Tension.
Nobody was hot in either one.

12 Monkeys
5/5
Brad Pitt is such a scene thief, even Bruce Willis can't keep up. But Bruce shows more range here than in most movies he's done. Awesome flick.

Everybody's Fine (2009) - 8/10. De Niro is a frustrated widower who surprise visits his estranged adult children, one of which is Kate Beckinsale and super hot, and another one who's Drew Barrymore, who'd be kinda nice to bang too. Well actorized sad stuff happens.

Lost Highway 10/10
I've seen it so many times before, but it's still fucking brilliant. It's not my favorite Lynch film, but it's pretty damn close.

Might have received a 9 if it wasn't for the trailer for Machete Kills Again....
It kind of killed the ending.

Watched some crap on Netflix last night.
The Last Stand - Arnold saving his town. Pretty stupid. Actually really really stupid. 3/10
Killing Season - Travolta with the worst accent, worst painted on hair, worst beard in film history. 2/10. So dumb and it just kept going on and on even though it was only 90 minutes long.
TWA 800 - Pretty interesting, but it was a lot of talking heads and my mind started to wander. 6.5/10

Pompeii. 6/10 Nothing special, but not as bad as I thought it would be either. And I never turn down an opportunity to see a hot guy in gladiator garb.

MMmmmmm...Kit Harington in a skirt. I know that Stone's "Alexander'' isn't everyone's top film , but if you enjoy hot guys in short skirts, that's the film for you. The Macedonians/Greeks wore theirs a lot shorter (IRL).TravisBicklesMohawk wrote:Pompeii. 6/10 Nothing special, but not as bad as I thought it would be either. We watched "The Station Agent" again. Love that film. First time I noticed Peter Dinklage (of Tyrion Lannister fame) years ago, the husband, who I did not think would like it, it's not an action flick to be sure, loved it.
Great characters, interesting story. 8/10

Molière (2007) - 6/10. Historical comedy loosely adapting a bunch of Molière's plays mixed in with his biography. Not too rewarding if you're watching as a fan.
Nathalie (2003) - 4/10. Boring-ass drama about gay relationship stuff. Emmanuelle Béart is hot enough.

Hmm. It's pretty much on par with it. Corben Bersen is great the crazier he gets...but I like Darkman as a crazy dentist too. Dr Giggles is probably gorier.caroline wrote:I'm not remembering this. Pathology (2008) - I originally dvr'd this only because I thought I'd get a good Alyssa Milano nude scene out of it (and I did. The scene near the end is grotesquely hot)..and then wound up getting a great pyschological thriller out of this. Not sure if this was ever released in the theater, but it should have been..and it should have made a lot of money. Good acting, good pace...good gore and good nudity. 9/10.

Unhung Hero - 7 out of 10
A documentary by the guy who was rejected on Kiss Cam when he proposed to his girlfriend because he had a small penis.
He goes in search of the answer to "Does Size Matter"... basically, he discovers that YES, YES it does...
He also discovers that over 50% of males suffer from feeling they are too small... explains a lot!

30 Days In Hell - this is the companion disc detailing the making of Devil's Rejects. Great behind-the-scenes look at the casting, locations, script treatments and character development. Head scratcher to see how RZ was capable of making this in lieu of how hit/miss his future flicks panned out. 9/10

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) - 7/10. Fancy thriller with the fat junkie ginge who just croaked. Great acting, but not really my thing.
Everything Must Go (2010) - 8/10. Hard to describe drama with Will Ferrell as a middle-aged suburb-alcoholic who has sort of a mental breakdown. Very indy and slow, but not at all artsy or pretentious. I liked it a lot.

In Cold Blood. 10/10 I've probably ranted about it before on another thread, but I have no problem ranting about it again. This film is an absolute masterpiece and should be put on everyone's movie bucket list.
