Re: President Trump
Anecdotally speaking, I haven't encountered anyone working themselves into a lather over the TIME magazine story. Most folks are just like "Of course he fucking did".
The whole "Journalists should be covering more important stuff" shit doesn't fly with me, though. It's like when people scream "How can you worry about X when there is so much Y in the world!" whenever they/re bothered by what bothers other people. As is always pointed out in these cases, people are typically capable of worrying about more than one thing at a time, and journalists are capable of doing the same. If nobody was covering the important stuff, I'd agree with you. But they are, and in abundance. There's a neverending mountain of fuckery to cover when it comes to this dumpsterfire.
I'm willing to argue that the faux-TIME cover is worth covering, not only for it's irony in the face of this administration's attack on the media for "fake news", but for the fact that we are dealing with a president who lies every time he opens his mouth or picks up his phone. We should be calling him out on every single lie, every single time, no matter how small. To do otherwise is adding to the already frightening and rapid normalization of this motherfucker. This isn't a joke cover in Gino Scragagacci's shitty pizza parlour; this is the fucking President of the United States of America, for shit's sake. I'm sorry (not sorry), but "Don't sweat the petty shit" just doesn't apply here; this asshole is nothing if not a mountain of petty.

Childish and spoiled athletes ignore the press every day. You'd tend to think a world leader would be many times more mature if not too busy with life and death issues to even care about or notice the press. Of course I still view things as being normal and haven't made the transition to.... well, whatever passes for reality these days.
Re: President Trump
I wish he posted here - it would be so fucking easy to get him to melt down.

I can seriously see his employees generating one of these any time he gets pissy-pants about negative coverage. White House advisors have spoken off record about basically doing this kind of shit in order to influence him.

I would be interested in hearing you list several of these supposedly lies he tellswe are dealing with a president who lies every time he opens his mouth or picks up his phone.
If he lies as often as you stated, it should be very easy to list about a dozen off the top of your head

Settle down all nice and comfy, make a cup of coffee or your beverage of choice...the list is only from Jan. 21 of this year. 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and on and on, you're on your own if you really want to know.

Stoner doesn't post much, so I'll steal her thunder and answer you, Ironyman.
He lied about there being three to five million illegal votes that kept him from winning the popular vote. Zero evidence of this.
He lied about the attendance numbers at his inauguration.
He lied about there being two gunshot deaths in Chicago the day Obama gave a gun control speech. There were no gun homocides that day.
He lied about Obama's wiretaps. Zero evidence of this.
He lied about there being no collusion with Russia. He was briefed about Russian collusion when he took office.
He lied about the murder rate in this country being higher than it's been in 50 years.
He lied about cutting costs on the F-35. These cuts were implemented by Obama.
He lied about a terror attack in Sweden. He just made it the fuck up on the spot.
He lied about being against the war in Iraq.
He lied about never having heard of Wikileaks. He bother about them in 2010.
I really could go on.

Re: President Trump
You have to remember, this is a clown that ran around for months claiming the president of the United States' wasn't born in America, gave a shitload of money to people who tried to prove it, only to have himself get owned by Obama when they released the birth certificate, which should have shut everyone up, but not Drumpf...whammybar wrote:Childish and spoiled athletes ignore the press every day. You'd tend to think a world leader would be many times more mature if not too busy with life and death issues to even care about or notice the press.
He had a bunch of geeks respect him for trying to get to the bottom of the whole Muslim-in-Chief in the White House so he continued on railing about Obama playing golf so much (hilarious considering his golf trips on the tax payer's dime) and every other thing he heard or was told by Fox News or Brietbart, ANYTHING to get back at Obama.
He didn't run for president because he wanted to help the American people. He did it for his ego. He's rich. People are supposed to respect him since he's rich. Once he realized he was appealing to a bunch of half wits who were appalled there was a half black man in the White House wanting to give their tax dollars to the poor and every other day was trying to take their guns, he just let his ego guide his big mouth and promised to bring back the good old days.. He had no clue on foreign policy, immigration, military strategy, healthcare or issues, he was busy working with Bert Miracles on the Apprentice, but his ego allowed him to believe he could be the president and run the country just like Drumpf Inc.
He's now transferred power from the White House to the Pentagon, handing off several warfighting authorities that previously rested in his hands -- and those of past presidents of both parties -- to the Pentagon and the commanders overseeing the US' military campaigns. For one thing... So he can avoid the blame when American casualties start piling up as they add more troops to Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan and other areas or conflict... All for his ego.
Every executive order, every attempt to erase the accomplishments the Obama administration had achieved in the last 8 years, he is hell bent on wiping out because of his ego and getting even for Obama proving to the world he was born in America and he got some shit done and is generally well liked, Drumpf's ego will never allow him to apologize nor admit he is wrong.. About anything.
It will always be someone else's fault.. There will always be a crony, a cabinet member or GOP or Democratic member to throw the blame on..

Trump’s pledge to keep the world from laughing at us hits another setback
Ross was allotted 10 minutes to speak. After he spoke for more than 20, the conference organizers cut his feed mid-sentence. The audience “laughed and clapped” in response, according to Bloomberg News. Merkel then rose and, during her remarks, disagreed with one of Ross’s points.
