When Trump finally acknowledged that Obama was born in this country, it was literally a five-second closing of the book on it. No owning up to it, no apology or explanation of his relentless public hammering of the issue for years. And when you think about it, just as important in that he perpetuated information that was an absolute lie based on no credible sources, the very thing he now constantly accuses the legit media of doing. His supporters never seemed to care that he did that or even that he quietly tried to limp away from the failure of that as quickly as he could.
