Terrifier 1, 2, and 3 movies
Anyone into these gore/torture porn slasher flicks? I've known about Art the Clown and this series for a few years but am not into that kind of horror much. I decided to watch Terrifier 1 yesterday, and despite the over-the-top gore (almost cartoonish), I was bored. I guess they're average, low-budget movies that have gotten a cult following over the last 8+ years. If you can stomach stuff like The Walking Dead or Kill Bill, you can stomach this if you can stay awake.

The first one isn't too bad for what it is. From what I've heard about the other two, I have no interest.

Not into them at all.
I watched the first Terrifier for about 15 minutes and turned it off. It genuinely disturbed me for some reason, so there was no need to continue.
Still surprised at just how popular these films have become. The new release is number one at the box office, I think.
But horror, just like everything else in life, is subjective. If you like it, enjoy!!

I actually think Art the Clown is a better character than Jason Voorhees or Michael Meyers. He is more interesting to watch because you get his facial expressions and diverse gestures rather than a mask, nonverbal communication, and barely any movement from the more iconic characters. That said, YouTube seems to have a ton of fangirling reviewers who think it's the most ingenious thing in cinema (maybe compared to Joker 2). 2 and 3 are about 2:30 long. I'm of the mindset that most movies should be two hours long. Ninety minutes is even better.

^^^^^ This is probably why I found the character to be very disturbing. Because you can kinda see his face, his eyes and facial expressions are right there for us to experience.
If I am too disturbed to watch, then the creators did their job.

Terrifier 1 was just stupid. The gore didn't bother me, but as the OP said, it was just boring. I think I got to the 15 or 20 minute mark.
I watch Terrifier 2 one day while I was working. It was better and at least had a some semblance of a story.
I'll watch 3 for the goof if I can watch it for free.

1 and 2 are on Prime (included) now. 3 will hit streaming soon enough. I haven't been to a theater since 2018. It's too convenient to watch movies at home, pause, piss, eat, watch more. In 3 months, it'll be on Prime also. I'll watch 2 and 3 just to do it. Again, for me, who is not generally a splatter fan, this is so cartoony that it doesn't hurt to watch. Real videos of powerlifters on IG whose bones snap under the pressure of the weights are more brutal for me to watch.

I can't with that franchise. I turned off the first one at the sawing the lady in half scene. My ex boyfriend loves it so its a good thing he's an ex so I was spared from having to see them in a theater. Liked the main girl's skeleton costume though.

Love this series. Start with All Hallows Eve. It has the first stories of Art. Went and watched 3 on Friday night and it was awesome. Way more gore than the other 2 but was awesome. When he meets the guy who he thinks is Santa I was dying laughing. Got to meet the guy who plays Art at a horror con and took a pic with him. Super nice guy.
