Your time is running out

Post by Hatchets Molly »

We had some other threads about getting old. It isn't something I think about often, but occasionally, my phone will show me a picture from 15 years ago today, which makes me think that in another 15 years, I'll be 73 (which kind of freaks me out).

Does anyone else get that occasional freak out knowing there isn't much time ahead for most of us?

You and I are the same age, but no, I don't think of my life as running out of time.

I've had a good time with my life so far. Yes, there's plenty more I would like to do, but that's optional, not mandatory.

That, plus the fact that I just lost my husband of thirty years, so dying doesn't bother me in the least.

That's also why I've indulged in some very foolish behavior as of late, but only because I am at the age where I just don't want to follow certain rules anymore either. If that makes any sense.

Sorry about your husband. I lost my first wife to cancer in 2001. She was 33, and we had a 3-year-old, so I get that, although it was a long time ago. I don't think about it until a picture or something startles me for a moment. I'm not yet retired, but soon. I want MY TIME after that. In the meantime, I've gone into "do enough not to get fired and collect a check mode." That's a thing I don't care about anymore. I will say that going through the death of a spouse prepared me for other deaths. When my dad died in 2022, I processed it differently than my Mom. She was a wreck, and I was more methodical about caring for things.

MY TIME is best life to have..that includes all the Metal Edge band shows at Paladino’s era
Who doesn’t want to watch A Team on IPhone lounging on a beach you vacationed to as a kid

Sure life could be gone in 15 years but what about the other 35 years before attending every beach volleyball tournaments all over So Cal- with 5-12 WWE shows per year

Bring on Heaven..I’m ready

Life continues to amaze, it's beyond ideal.

Given my family's history of longevity, where nearly everyone lives into their mid to late nineties, and my dedication to a healthy lifestyle, I'm hopeful for a long life extending into triple digits. I'm excited to make the next five-plus decades meaningful, fulfilling and productive. There is plenty of time left, life is long and beautiful.

I try not to think about it too much. But time passes so quickly now!
I feel like time sped up like crazy since the mid 90's when the internet came along. Maybe that makes no sense, but I feel like does.
If the next 20 years goes as fast as the last 20 years I will be an actual elderly person. So weird, I don't feel old. And I don't look like an old person...I don't think!

My friend and I were talking around our birthdays, about how old our grandparents looked when we were kids.
We are older now, or as old, as they were when we were kids!!!

TBM, I'm sorry for your loss. Do whatever you want to do, this is your life!
