According to https://www.nbc4i.com/entertainment-new ... 76-reports :
(wikipedia says six episodes aired, eight were produced)
"Cheers" ran for 11 years, 275 episodes.
He had a show that ran for FIVE WEEKS ... That must have hurt.Following the success of “Cheers,” he had his own sitcom called “The George Wendt Show,” which aired on CBS from March 8 to April 12, 1995.

Other than be a reoccurring Chicago Bears super fan on SNL I don’t remember much else.

Re: R.I.P. Norm from Cheers
Cheers was the best. Just simplicity at its finest--dumb guys bullshitting in a bar and women who are smarter than them. THAT. IS. THE FORMULA.
Every guy on that show was dumb as bricks. Frasier, the intellectual, may have been the dumbest guy of all. The wisest? Perhaps Woody, the G-rated Midnight Cowboy. Or Coach, who had the wisdom of a dying man.
Cheers explored these ironies in what Gene Simmons (of Kiss) would call a "meat and potatoes" way. No nonsense. Carla wouldn't have it.
Cheers to Norm, the true star of the show, beloved by the world.
(Wait, I think Wendt was a Replacements superfan. Another one gone, boys. RIP.)

Best show ever- my life coach
Sam’s life was the best- it’s same life I have now
Got small group of people that worship my lifestyle like Sam
I almost made Diane mistake.:could have married some upper class girl around 2000..imagine that I would have been pussy whipped all these years and miserable
Norm and Cliff were the BEST!
Cliff is Cheers MVP

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

He was generally a fan of 80s US hardcore and noisier indie bands. I remember him being mentioned in the NME as going to a few club shows in London.Chip Z'Hoy wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 4:45 pm (Wait, I think Wendt was a Replacements superfan. Another one gone, boys. RIP.)
One of my friends in the early 90s said it was one of his life's ambitions to be able walk into his local pub and have his name called out in welcome. In hindsight that's an ambition to have chronic alcoholism but Norm made it look a lot more fun.
