lol you mean the Biden/NWO war on the USA. Dude wasn’t even running the country, who was signing all the bills and executive orders with Biden’s autopen trying to turn us into a 3rd world country. He has Alzheimer’s there’s no way he was running the country and it was very dangerous with him having the nuclear football

Ok, so who' exactly is in this NWO that he was allied to? Second q - will you be able to answer without saying, in some form, "the Jews"?

Democrat vs. Republican essential boils down the old beer commercial "Tastes Great vs. Less Filling", the reality is that we're all drinking the same shitty beer.......
We exchanged a diaper shitting invalid for an ego maniac reality TV character, yet nothing has really changed. "They" want us divided, they want that "contention", and the crazy part is that most of you fall in line like sheep.
Put 1000, 10,000, a million, average Americans in a room, 99.9% of them would "get along" etc..., but we let that .1% nut bag (who screams the loudest) have the power.

I don't like Trump. Never have when he was just a "real estate personality" in the 1980s. As long as he isn't trying to be a dictator for life or dismantle democracy, whatever. The problem I have is that, prior to 2016, presidents were elected, they did their thing (mostly quietly), and that was that. Each guy did some good and some not-so-good. That was America. Now, it is impossible to escape the "news." I don't want to hear shit from him or any of his people. I don't want to hear shit from the other side. Just do your fucking jobs the way it is meant to be done. Stop being a fucking idiot 24/7. Secondly, the cult of personality that fooled 41% of the nation has emboldened many. And I'm not talking about stupid comments on a bulletin board. I'm talking about the true neo-Nazi groups, the once hidden people that now feel breaking the law is their constitutional right. I'm far from political. I have no social media. I try to avoid a lot of news. I'm fucking tired of going about my life without hitting an IDIOT WALL every 10 fucking minutes.

Using the Lite Beer from Miller analogy, just fucking drink the beer and enjoy. It doesn't matter wtf you think is the best thing about it.

Yeah, but even that is easy to ignore. It's meaningless. I'm a registered Democrat, but that doesn't mean I blindly agree with every move any D admin has made. Trumptards blindly think everything he's done is top-shelf strategy, even when it's robbing them and he's a laughing stock. They're beyond rationality.

20, 30, 100 years from now, the "noise" will only get worse. Even the local news is click and rage bait. We are past a time when there is a sense of normalcy or calm to political discourse.

I wasn't sure if he thought I was one. If you believe everything on the left is hunky-dory, you're as insane as the extreme right. My point was only that it was nice when politics was background noise and not a daily, in-your-face thing and cult members didn't feel like their identity defied law, order, and civility.

I heard far less about Biden and his 4 year tenue than I do about Trump in 4 weeks! Shock and awe tactic being implemented. Miss the days of not being bombarded with the latest destructive thing Trump and his cronies are doing on pretty much a daily basis. Which is the gradual erosion of democracy and to become an authoritarian state. He was on social media the other day telling Walmart to eat the costs for his nonsensical tariffs. Wasn't it other countries who were supposed to pay for tariffs! Lol. Doesn't work like that. Now he's trying to get Walmart to set prices which is something a communist government would do.

As probably the most progressive liberal on this board, I will say this - Trump’s approval has never been higher, and my side absolutely fucking sucks at fighting this, adapting, and understanding our opposition. It is just pitiful. It’s like the first scene in the Mighty Ducks when they go up against the Hawks and they can barely skate and get routed.

Whoever said it was really on to something with that whole definition of insanity thing. “I know! I’ll go in the street and hold up a sign telling Trump and Elon that I don’t like them! That’ll show ‘em! We demand they do things differently…or…we’ll take to the streets and hold up the signs some more! It sure brought Trump in line the first time around!”

Yeah it has been plummeting. It was higher when he was elected.

His approval rating is low. Lowest out of all presidents in the last 100 years or so.

The problem I have with the Trump Administration goes beyond ideology: it's the sheer incompetence that's most troubling.

Case in point: regardless of your political leanings, there is near-universal consensus among any reputable economist that the manner, method and follow-up of how they rolled out the tariffs was idiotic -- and economic suicide. And, sure enough, as soon as the bond market roiled (not to mention major corps like Apple and Tesla saying "what the fuck are you doing?!"), Navarro's stupid plan basically folded. I'm not saying there isn't room for implementing greater economic protectionism and re-setting trade relationships, but, man, you don't do this way.

And his immigration deportation program is a similar disaster because (for reasons that elude me) his crack legal team couldn't come up with a plan that could withstand Constitutional scrutiny -- even the padded conservative Supreme Court is lining up against the Alien Enemies Act nonsense. Again, there could have been a sensible plan to expedite deportations (the "due process" in immigration courts can be curtailed to a sheer minimum and the Executive could have deputized 1,000 newfound immigration judges to just rubberstamp the deportations with minimum review, but instead you have this ill-conceived and poorly executed plan....)

It's amateur hour.

The problem is a substantial part of his voting base is small business, export-dependent people (e.g., farmers), and when they feel the tariff effect (and they will), that's not going to be a happy midterm. Similarly, most large corporations (and shareholders ) are extraordinarily reliant on import/export relations. He's committing the cardinal sin of a new administration: don't fuck up a robust economy.

It's amazing how quickly people's principles change and how moral compasses get de-magnitized, when policies start hitting their wallet directly.....

Yeah it has been plummeting. It was higher when he was elected.

His approval rating is low. Lowest out of all presidents in the last 100 years or so.

He’s consistently in the mid-high 40s. His first term he was consistently in the low-mid 40s. This is after a solid decade.

If this is something for my side to celebrate or take satisfaction or deflect from then it’s sort of proving my point.

Edit re: below - that’s one poll, the lowest of the bunch, there are a dozen others from the past week or so that have him at 44-52. If we’re only gonna believe the polls that tell us what we want to hear then 11/5 wasn’t enough of a wakeup call, and again this is sort of proving my point. Taken at face value, we’re going to call that “plummeting”? The exact same slight dip happened after the 2017 inauguration and lasted the rest of his first term, only for the public to give him 49% of the vote in November. We have collectively learned nothing, my side’s tactics for fighting this over the past decade have not been effective, and we aren’t willing to adapt. Simple as that. I wish it wasn’t the case. It is.

Trump's approval rating for May 19 was 42%, according to Ipsos/Reuters survey of May 16-18. Disapproval rating is 52%. The 42% approval rating matches Trump's lowest approval rating recorded by Reuters/Ipsos during his second term.

I saw a comedian early on in Trump's first term and while I forget the joke and specifics he basically said "I can't wait until the day someone asks me "hey did you hear what the president did today?" And I can say "no, I didn't""

It will be so nice to have a normal fucking president again who behaves like an adult regardless of party affiliation.

It's worse than that. If "your side" is what I think it is then it is simply not possible to adapt without losing what defines that side.

If it is some kind of "crazy left" with complete disregard for facts, figures and science, then you may have a chance.

But not as a sensible center-right or moderate left. The attention economy is just not their world.

Personally I can't wait until the attention economy dies a slow death. Maybe AI will kill it as it doesn't react emotionally?

Where are the "real news" and "real polls" found?

Duh. Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN. Isn't that where all Trumpies get their real news? And when those become not-conservative-enough, they'll graduate to Info Wars and Stormfront.

I'm genuinely curious where he gets his news.

I dunno man...one party advocates for equal rights, labor rights, easing the financial burden of the middle class, keeping the environment clean and safe, strengthening education, funding medical research. The other party is actively overseeing the most massive transfer of wealth from the lower class to the richest in the country, dismantling education, making health insurance and medication more expensive, eroding checks and balances within the government, trying to push religion in public schools, defunding life-saving medical research, and scrapping regulations that keep us safe from polluted air/water and food-borne illness.

But yeah, I guess both parties are pretty much the same...

^^^

Quite the accurate description of the differences right here.

My standard response to anyone claiming both parties are the same = “Tell me you don’t pay any attention to this stuff but want people to think you do without telling me you don’t pay any attention to this stuff but want people to think you do.”

Yet another example of the deep state showing favoritism towards foreigners.
